Description: Claudia's is located within the Thunderbolt Farm winery. Its about 5 minutes drive from the main road, south of Stanthorpe. We lunched there on a warm sunny day and sat overlooking the hills - blinds were up and the views were lovely. Although the menu is international there is a German influence in many of the dishes and of course the beers. We order the Burgundy Beef pie which was very tasty, though the pie itself was a fairly small portion served with buttery delicious carrots and beans. My husband ordered the combo of German sausages and schnitzel which was served with a generous helping of pan fried potatoes and onions. The sausages were excellent and my husband also said the schnitzel was very good. Children's menu is good. My son was very happy with his fish and chips and complimentary icecream. Later he wandered around the herb gardens and watched the free range ducks waddle about. The higlight was the dessert of apple strudel. It was spicy and so delicious served with cream and icecream. Claudia's is off the beaten track but worth the small effort in getting there. Next time we hope to have time to taste some of the wines!

Went with a group of 16 and although we booked the lady was a little stressed out and whilst I don't think she meant to be bossy she was but that gave us all something to talk about later and didn't stop us enjoy ourselves.
Good food, but not a la carte and priced accordingly.
Nice atmosphere and it all added to our memories

A meal at Claudia's should be part of any visit to the Granite Belt. The food is fabulous and we adore the personal service. This is our pick or the best restaurant in the area, and we've tried most of them!

From the moment we stepped inside and were greeted with a roaring log fire, we knew we were in for a treat. The imported German beer was excellent and cheap, the wine was tasty (and I was even allowed to take home the rest of the bottle for a small fee!). The flavours of the food were bang on - we had german sausages and schnitzel and were thoroughly impressed. The strudel is not to be missed as the finale to a great meal!

Off the beaten track, though not far you will find Claudia's Country Restaurant at the Thunderbolt Farm Estate Winery.

Went for lunch in March 2010. We are a family of foodies and were looking forward to some German fayre at Claudia's. I was a bit disappointed that menu wasn't more "German focused" though I guess they need to cater for all tastes.

We ordered the German sausages which were excellent, served with pan fried potatoes & onions and coleslaw and also Beef Burgundy Pie which although tasty was definitely on the small side and to my mind the sauce could have been slightly thickened and was served with buttery vegetables.

We had the apple strudel for dessert which didn't disappoint - nicely spicy with crisp pastry served with cream and icecream.

My husband was delighted with the choices of German beer on offer.

The weather was warm enough for the plastic blinds to be lifted so we were treated to some lovely views as well as watching a family of ducks waddle about on the farm.
