We had already seen the dinosaur attractions in Winton & nearly gave this one a miss but lucky we decided to give it a look. The fossils on display are many & varied. You certainly get an understanding of just how many dinosaurs must have inhabited the area.

Even though it's not very big, it's a great little display of fossils from the area. Great to see little towns providing an incentive for tourists to stop and visit.

A fantastic display of the aquatic dinosaurs of the once great inland sea at richmond. Our four and six year old loved the kids area which had a simulated dig and a dinosaur to uncover with paint brushes. Very simple but kept them happy. There were also books and puzzles for them to do. They provide personal listening devices like mobile phones which we were able to listen to if we chose as each display was numbered and you just selected those you wished to hear about. The kids didn't last very long on that one.
Nicely presented don't be put off by the reception in the foyer - we were a bit taken aback by the lack of greeting and enthusiasm at this museum. It had one of the best souvenir selections for children we saw and the vases and boxes turned from sea fossils were awesome if not local.

Well set out and informative displays with great audio and written descriptions. Well worth a visit and it also has a cafe attached where you can sit down and reflect on your visit. The research that they are doing to find new fossils is fascinating.

The fact that there is a nearly complete dinosaur skeleton on display is awesome and worth seeing if you are into that some of thing. The self guided tour with handheld commentary is very interesting and educational. I realise it costs a lot to put such a display together however the entry price at $20 is too expensive. Better value at the museum in Hughenden and better souvenirs at Hughenden to. Tip: get a photo of the kids with the dinosaur model out the front, it's free and better than any photo opportunities inside.
