“To die for scones”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We often visit Silky Oaks just to have their hot baked scones. It is a must stop either on the way or return to the Daintree. On our last visit we sat in the restaurant overlooking the free flowing creek watching the guests paddling in the canoes - a wonderful rainforest experience.

If you are looking for an awesome experience, you should take the time to experience Silky Oaks Lodge. The rooms are tree houses amongst the Daintree Rain Forrest. The pool is surrounded by rocks and wonderful fauna. It is so relaxing. The food at their restaurant is delicious. The staff is first rate and make you feel at home from check-in to checkout. If and when we come back to Australia, we will certainly try to make it a point to come back. If you want to include a side trip to the Coral Sea to experience Low Isles, book a trip with Aquarius Catamaran.

Silky Oaks is certainly one of the most genial possible respites from civilization that you can imagine, and one of the nicest lodges that my wife and I have visited. Nestled in the Daintree rainforest outside Mossman (near Port Douglas, about an hour north of Cairns), it feels like its own primordial world, albeit with small, beautifully-appointed "treehouse" cabins, an excellent restaurant, and the usual amenities such as a first-rate spa.

The place is gorgeous, nestled into the rainforest and practically a part of it, with walking and hiking trails weaving through the grounds and along the Mossman River, which it overlooks. We enjoyed simply strolling around and hearing the riot of birdsong in the woods. This place is a real slice of paradise,

Room Tip: The river view cabins are a little more expensive but enjoy a wonderful view. Not a critical distin...

What a surprise to find the peaceful bungaloes at the silky oaks after a long drive from Sydney. Teak floors, finely appointed rooms and relaxation. You've gotta love this place. Highly recommended for couples who want a perfect "base" from which to explore the boundless Australian coast!

This is an annual pilgrimage for some friends and I. We stay in nearby Port Douglas and drive up each year (about 25 mins - follow the little blue signs past Mossman) for some pampering at the Spa followed by lunch afterwards. Thoroughly recommend spending the time and money on the Detoxifying Marine Body Wrap, and apparently the Thermal infusing facial is also excellent. We book lunch to coincide when our treatments finish, and the food is always fabulous, with plenty of enticing choices. The wine list is also very comprehensive. As always, there are a few things that detract from perfection. We were all disappointed to discover large and numerous tears in our napkins at lunch (we even commented that if they were at home we'd throw them out), and it did take several attempts to get the various bookings done leading up to our visit, however in the end Sharon was our saviour. Will we go there again next year? Definitely! Hopefully all their front of house staff will be aware of the booking system and they will have replaced their table linen by then

I recently surprised my gf for her birthday (just before her wedding) with a 3 hour package at the wellness spa. We both had a full body exfoliation, mud bath, 60minute massage and 60 minute facial... It was so incredibly relaxing and our skin had never felt so radiant! It cost me $800 but it was so worth it and next time my mum comes to visit ill definitely be taking her there for a spa day too!

SIlky Oaks Lodge is absolutelly amazing place! It is placed in the rain forest. The cottages are very nice and comfortable. And the restaurant....Eating such delicious meals among rain trees was an unforgettable experiance! It was worth going around 27 000 km from Poland to Australia to have a chance to stay there.
