“Beautiful beach village with access to the GBR. Affordable prices for everyday items and meals.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2013

The atmosphere, laid back, relaxing. Fresh tropical feel with great service anywhere we went. So lovely to drive around without being hurried by others. Loved the information/road signs about cassowaries - wish we'd seen one, was fun looking.

“Secret Mission”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

Mission Beach, tropical north Queensland is a hidden gem. 14 kilometers of white sandy beaches that are fringed by coconut palms and a backdrop of lush tropical rainforest. MB is the closest stepping off point to the Great Barrier Reef and has the family group of islands at its doorstep to explore, including Hinchinbrook. Crystal clear streams and waterfalls flow from the Great Dividing range. The area is a haven for wildlife including the endangered cassowary, the extremely rare red goshawk, May to December and many species of birds who migrate from New Guinea each year. The village has a varied number of restaurants to choose from. If you enjoy long beach walks, lack of crowds and an untouched landscape then this is the place to go.
Just a divine place to unwind.

“Nice beach but not much else to do but see wallabies”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

If you are travelling or backpacking it is worth to see mission beach. Purely for the beach, duck island or the skydive. Plus there are wallabies to be seen around some parts so look out!! Not much else to do so only needs a few days.

“Unbelievable”

We loved the peace and quiet of the town and the ability for long walks along the beach. Cute little shops and restaurants.
