The meals were tasty, fresh and well presented. Pricing and value for money was excellent, easily able to feed a family of five for under $100.00, which is a rarity when on holidays. The service was also very good.

We arrived at the Fish Bar and it was packed. The waitress was a little flustered but offered us a seat at the bar, and admitted it would be a long wait. The food took half an hour and it was really excellent- good amount of salad, home made chips, and really good fish. They might have been struggling to cope a bit, but they pulled it off! The place lacked ambience and there were screens playing footy, and I wish they had a better range of bee but it was otherwise comfy and casual.

this place was one of 2 open when we stayed. Very average but the service was ok. Because it's one of 2 places open you basically had little choice and they were double booking. Would of preferred more options but meals were passable.

This is obviously a popular place and was the only place that was packed each night when we were there. The menu is simple and everything comes with chips and salad. The wine selection is basically red or white with a choice of sav blanc or chardonnay and one red. No spark.ling wine at all. Service was efficient, my old fashioned prawn cocktail was amazing-fat prawns in a delicious sauce, but both nights my barramundi was on the dry side and bony. Desserts were basic (mud cake, cheesecake-not home made) but good ambience and reasonably priced. We sat outside and were glad of the hearty fire that was burning.

Best things first..... this ‘restaurant’ was the only one offering a full lunch. OK that’s where the accolades stop. The menu was offering trans fats in various forms, disguised and obvious, so we opted instead for the seafood chowder with corn and bacon. That seemed a reasonable choice. We opted for a wine, seemed strange that there was no wine list at a bar. Just a waitress listing the varietals of house wine available, no labels mentioned. Mmm.
The ‘seafood’ chowder arrived. A plate, in my case, full of half potatoes swimming in a heavy cream that did not taste remotely of seafood. There was about 1 tablespoon of chunky salmon, a bit of diced bacon and a couple of spring onions. No seafood, no corn (quite remarkable) and no taste of smokey bacon. My husband did better on the salmon front (maybe the ladle was kinder to him, because whoever served it wasn't watching). Who in their right mind serves a plate of half potatoes in cream?
The waitress’s question as to whether we enjoyed the meal was clearly false as she didn’t register either the silence or the half eaten plate and walked off without an answer.
To sum up ... a sausage roll over the road will leave you with less indigestion and probably score better on the weight watcher scale.
