Eco Village Resort Mission Beach
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We have just returned from staying at this beautiful resort for three wonderful nights. We booked a deluxe king spa room, which was huge with a spa bath in the corner and an amazing pateo with a plunge pool in front of the table and chairs, hidden behind lush greenery giving each villa a really private feel. In the evening the water ran through the pool giving the relaxing sound of running water while sitting there relaxing. The staff we really friendly and welcoming and very approachable. The private beach and the swimming pool areas are just beautiful and so relaxing. A short footpath from the resort takes you straight to the long beach which stretches for miles, and it is about 15 minutes walk to several cafes and good takeaways. This place seemed like paradise to us, but if you are scared of spiders then it may not suit everyone as there are some pretty large ones around the resort and in the trees and bushes around the whole area! There was just one (small) complaint which was that there was no information about the resort available in the room, and we spent our first night with no air conditioning due to the fact that we didn't know how to start it - easy once you knew how! However, we were told that this was in the process of being prepared, and I am sure it will be available very soon.

Room Tip: Choose a Deluxe King Spa - worth every penny

Stayed here for 3 days early Nov. First stop on E Coast road trip after hustle and bustle of Melbourne and Sydney. Perfect place to chill out -- you get your own chalet with kitchenette and private patio. Ours was looking out into surrounding rainforest - interesting wildlife, most seemingly harmless. Resort is right on a big, wild beach. Stinger season has just started, so not able to swim in sea, though there is a net at other end of beach. Pool is excellent. Mission Beach town is short drive or 10 min walk away. Really laid back place with a few good, relaxed bars and restaurants. Liked Sand Bar.
Free bananas outside reception are sweet and tasty. Dan the Boss is helpful and easy going.

Stayed 2 nights while on Oz trip as my husband wanted to go white water rafting on the nearby Tully river -great location for this. Very friendly staff ,nothing too much trouble, restaurant on site quiet and food delicious. Room was a bungalow set in lush gardens , decor a bit dated but clean and cool in the heat, bed really comfortable.Fridge, microwave and basic eating utensils supplied. Short walk from hotel to the picturesque sandy beach ,swimming pool on site.

We have stayed at the Eco Village Resort at Mission Beach three times now and we keep going back because of the friendly service, reasonable rates and location. The pool is excellent and the location is right on the beach, yet secluded by lush gardens. it is always quiet and because the rooms are detached it is like living in your own home. The facilities are clean and reasonably modern and the staff are pleasant too. We have eaten at the restaurant twice and found the meals to be quiet nice.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are close by the pool but the rooms adjacent to the beach are nice.

Fantastic location, private and secluded. Rooms are done up nicely with very comfortable beds, and darkened rooms for a nice sleep in. Stayed for 2 nights, but would definetly stay longer time permitting. Daniel is a great host with personality plus. Just a little walk to the shops and restaurants. They have there own restaurant on premises, which is very nice and affordable.Just a 30 metre walk from our room to the beautiful beach. Be back there soon.

Room Tip: We had room 5 which was very quiet, even when they were booked out.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in July and had a night booked at Castaways, took a long look around and came back to the Eco Village.

The rooms at the Eco Village are huge, clean and well appointed, the beds comfortable and the grounds are just lovely - very tropical. The location is wonderful, right behind the beach and you can hear the surf at night, it's so relaxing. The pace is very chilled out and the hosts very helpful. The only downside I can imagine is that the rooms are close together - if you have noisy neighbours you'll hear everything, but this place doesn't seem to attract noisy people (unlike Castaways).

I wouldn't hesitate to come back here - highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask to be as close to the beach as possible.

EcoVillage was a perfect place to stay, right on beautiful Mission Beach, spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, friendly and helpful hosts. Definitely would recommend it for a relaxing break. We (couple) stayed in the King Size Deluxe and the Self Contained room, both had their pros and cons but would recommend the Self Contained if staying more than a couple of days as its more spacious.
