“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2010

A wonderful apartment to stay at
* big 2 bed room apartment, with island kitchen and view of the pool
* modern appliances and comfortable lounge and bedding
*including 2 bathrooms bonus!! and 2 Tv's bonus!! the big TV had a lovely home theatre setup with great sound
*a study area is also included which could also be a sleeping area
*this apartment could sleep 8+ guests without compromising on space
* great view of the pool and across the road we were on a lower level where the ocean could not be seen
* close to local shops
* kinda close to public transport , don't expect buses to be at your beckoning call, i recommend a rental car for weekends and sundays
* a nice pool and a top deck level spa
* the apartment felt more Residental than holiday as it had nearly everything a home should have, one could purchase such an apartment to permantly live in
*would stay again

My wife and I stayed here for the second time over the Easter long weekend one of the smaller two bedroom apartments on the 8th floor.
We had a couple of minor maintenence issues (flat batteries in TV remotes and faulty downlights), but overall we still feel the Sebel is a brilliant place to stay on the Sunshine Coast.
The beach that you can see from your room is within close walking distance. Underneath the hotel is McDonalds, Pizza Capers and a little Thai cafe. There is a 7-11 convenience store nearby, a small Italian cafe, a large Thai restaurant and a 24 hour carwash just down the road. The big shopping centre is like a 2 minute drive with cinema and shops and more food places like Sushi Train. Heading south it's a quick 5 minute drive to Mooloolaba restaurants like Montezuma's for great Mexican food.
The apartment was very clean, and I liked how many cooking utensils etc the kitchen contained, there were frypans, dishes, plates, etc and even champagne glasses!
We didn't use the in-room spa, but we had a go of the swimming pool, steam room and spa which is on the 2nd floor I think. There is also a roof-top spa and BBQ area.
The hotel was a bit noisier than last time we visited, but that was to be expected as it was completely booked due to the long weekend, and we still had a relaxing time.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for 3 nights in March 2010. Was a great hotel. It was my first time in Sunshine Coast area and glad this was the place I stayed at.

The beach is a few minutes walk from the hotel, and nearby are many places to eat at.
7-11 across the street for late night purchases and if your into fast food there's a McDonalds below, among other great food places.

We had originally a 1 bedroom booked, but upon check-in was upgraded to 2 bedroom at no cost. Was very nice of them, although we didn't need the extra space. Our room backed onto the pool which was great, and at night the pool is lit.

There is a steam room, a very large hot tub, a children's pool and a good lap pool (looked better in person than picutres!)

A few cons however were, a few bumps in the stainless steel fridge, and a cracked tile, but for me that was not big deal. Some of the furniture is worn, like a cigarette hole in the couch but is usable. The window shades backing onto the pool in the main bedroom could have been better in terms of privacy.

Overall the place was clean, had no complaints, despite what some have said on here.
And a big plus, Free parking!

Looking forward to going back in the near future!

We stayed just 1 night being a Saturday night, booked a two bedroom apartment for four people. Third floor overlooking the pool and glimpses of the ocean. Check in friendly and welcoming as was check out. Great rate through Entertainment Book and check out of 11.00 am is a good thing on the Sunshine Coast.

We sat in the spa by the pool which was nice and hot, a relaxing spot to take it all in.

I have always dodged this property as I thought it would be quite noisy at night however we all slept very well.. nice bathrooms and a very spacious 2 bedroom appartment that's for sure with a tele in the main room and bedroom.

Ok the down side is the position, just doesn't do it for us as we kind of always thought... and we also note the empty shops below... which have been empty for quite some time now.

All in all very good and we will return, thank you Sebel.
Oh yes and apart from a few children's finger marks on the bathroom mirror and TV, very clean....

9/10 from us! (one less for the position)

Stayed at the Sebel last weekend with my husband. the unit was incredibly clean and tidy. Most of the fittings etc looked liked they had never been used and cupboards etc smelt new. Had a room on 11th floor with great view up the coast. Check in was easy and assume we were upgraded to a 2 bed unit as had only booked a 1 bedroom. Location - across the road and walk around the caravan park and you are on the beach. Within walking distance of several restaurants and fast food outlets. Didn't hear any road noise at night. Pool and steam roon very clean. Very relaxing overnight stay. Only surprise was the cleaner with hose etc cleaning outdoor balconies at check out time.

Choose the sebel from the great photos and website. Upon arrival was disapointed with the condition of the apartment. Was extremely dirty and had to spend the first 2 hours of my holiday cleaning before my 2 year old picked up all the dirt. There wher marks and dirt all over the walls, the couch was filthy, the bathroom had mould, the dinning chair fabric was all torn, the appliances had worn knobs and I could not read how to start the dishwasher, the dryer sounded like it was going to blow up. Upon booking I was told that everything was within walking range, but upon arrival found that we needed a hire car to get around. The atmosphere around the hotel was very quiet and half the shops under the hotel where empty. Kitchen equipment was very minimal. The busy road out front was very noisy and found even with doors shut could often not get to sleep.

I live in Maroochydore and decided to stay at the Sebel in Maroochydore with my boyfriend for valentines...Holidaying at home doesnt sound so interesting but The Sebel was great! We felt like we were somewhere else which is hard to do...great roof top spa! We stayed one night and although it was a tad pricey...being over 200 dollars...it was worth it to splurge for the occasion, the pool is beautiful and ofcourse it is centrally located, smack between mooloolaba and maroochydore, shopping, beach, river and lifestyle all in one.
The rooms are huge and the in room spa bath we had was perfect! Larrrrge kitchen and living areas, I could have lived there.

Plus...McDonalds and Nando's are right underneath and a 7/11 acorss the road..than on the same road withing 5 minutes walking is a Sizzler and smorgasboard of idian, thai and italian restaurants.
