We booked a table for six on Saturday night. It was very busy and extremely loud...so loud that we couldn't talk to each other or the waiter. We did ask to be moved but there was nowhere to go. The food was good, the wine list is extensive but overly expensive. We ordered drinks that didn't arrive more than once, I'm not sure if the waiter didn't hear us or simply forgot. Having looked forward to enjoying a night of good food, relaxing music and good company our overall feeling was frustration. The idea is wonderful and obviously a desirable concept considering how busy they were but the music spoiled our night. We didn't go to a concert but that's what we got. I would go back during the week to see if it was just an over exuberant jazz band or a matter of the management still trying to figure out the balance.
I have experienced this type of eatery many times having lived in Europe and when it works there is no beating it and I really hope The Piano Bar listens and does some fine tuning.
