We wanted somewhere new to us on the coast to take our interstate guest (who's a bit of a foodie) for dinner, and Arnica exceeded expectations. The efficient and amiable waiter was welcoming and we were seated with a nice view over the water. Coolish breeze so a wrap might be an idea for the girls. The daily specials sounded good so 2 of us opted to start with the fresh seafood chowder - absolutely packed with seafood in a lovely light soup - not at all gluggy like some chowders can be, plus it was a very generous serve. I had six oysters, freshly shucked and presented "funky" style - a mix of great tastes. One had duck for mains, then the other 2 had the two pasta specials - different styles, with lovely light sauces and again all were huge serves with the pasta dishes being like a seafood platter complete with half a crab, atop some beautiful el dente pasta. The wine list is small but good quality and again the serves are more than generous. We will return to try the meat dishes as the waiter tells us the lamb rack and rib fillet are 'best on the coast'
