“Very nice well maintained park”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

Great park as apart from all the good things about this park we like the “no bikes, scooters, blades etc etc” rule as so nice to be able to sit out in the park be it under an awning or under a tent fly & experience just the peace & quiet of this park
I have read reviews where parents have said they were disappointed that the park had this rule in place but did they also consider that people live in these parks & that these residents also may not wish their “privacy” invaded by noisy bikes, scooters etc riding past outside along with the safety factor that when given open reign some kids have no road sense when unsupervised
With the facilities in the park catering for kids one would think there was enough for them to be kept amused
So thank you Maroochy Palms for having this rule in place for old farts like us & many more of us
Check in & check out went smoothly.
Amenities very clean it’s only when some peeps who shower etc do not mop after themselves that these amenities can become very wet, slippery & dirty no way any fault of the cleaners who leave the amenities spotless.
Lined garbage bins outside most sites & these are emptied every day
Grounds are kept well maintained, though the grassed area near the lake is starting to show signs of little rain where as 3mths ago it was as green as.
TV reception was hit & miss but this seems to be the case when in this neck of the woods in Qld for us anyway in a 2012 model van whereas as just over the border into NSW reception is great
A visit to the shops will be either a walk maybe 10-15mins or a drive
There is a shop on site cannot compare prices as have not shopped there.
One of the nicest parks on the sunshine coast.

We have stayed at a few Big 4 parks now during our 4 week holiday up the eastern coast, and this park was not one of their best. Don't get me wrong it was clean and had the jumping pillow, pool etc , however the kids were not allowed to ride their scooters.... Which was very disappointing..... This was the first Big 4 park we have stayed at that enforced this upon everyone... So we had unhappy kids.... If we had known this beforehand we would not have stayed here....

We found the Maroochy Palms a delightful experience. Facilities were the best we had experienced, Staff on the ball and most helpful beyond the call of duty. Other caravanners were easy to get along with and we cannot wait to return in 2014.

The management has ensured that all facilities are top notch and cleaniless is a major priority.

Room Tip: As were vanners we are unable to assist in this area. However, Van sites are all great especially if...

First time to stay at a Big4 and we loved it. Will definitely be back. The "cabin" was like a lovely little villa inside. Modern, clean, everything we could need, spacious, comfy beds.
The kind of little "house" you could stay in quite comfortably for a long time. It seemed a nice, tidy campground, quiet in the evenings, and plenty of activites for the kids. Staff were friendly and helpful .

Room Tip: The cabins for 4 or more are very spacious

We just spent 2 nights in a cabin at the BIG4 Maroochy. The cabin was clean and everything we expected. The kids enjoyed jumping on the jumping pillow, playing tennis and playing in the playground. Unfortunately the pool was very cold. If you are looking for a kid friendly caravan park in a quiet location, then this ticks the boxes.

We stayed for three nights on a grass tent site and we all (family of five plus two friends) enjoyed our stay.

When booking over the phone we were offered a lakeside pitch or a grassy patch on the main campsite, we chose the main site (for safety reasons) and it was a good choice, next to the water we would have ended up worrying too much for the safety of our inquisitive toddler.
The campsite facilities were pretty much the same as in the other Big 4's we stayed at - camp kitchen with BBQ, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge/freezer. One morning we were still sitting in the kitchen area when the cleaner arrived and were impressed by how thoroughly she cleaned everything. Same for the showers/toilets which we found to be very clean.

We liked the set up of the campsite, with all play/entertainment facilities (pool, jumping pillow etc) located in one area. One evening we had a bbq while the kids were watching the outdoor movie, and it was nice to be able to sit back and enjoy it while the kids were still in sight and we knew that they couldn't wander off (fenced off area around the play facilities).

Only (small) downsside was that we would have liked the showers/toilets to be located much closer, it felt a bit like a trek when a child needed the toilet in the middle of the night.

We love the area and liked the campsite, so we're likely to return!

Room Tip: Choose the main campsite over the lakeside tent pitches if you have small children. Lakeside is pret...

We went to this place for the long Easter break. The place itself is nice, nothing fancy but it provides a nice environment for families.
On the day we arrived, we went to try the restaurant.
Staff was severely rude, unhelpful and even hurt my girlfriend by closing the door on her arm. Nobody apologised.
We ordered food and were told to wait for 3 hours until it got ready. Please forgive my lack of patience, but I do not think it takes 3 hours to deep fry a basket of potatoes, especially if the restaurant is empty.
After a few more rude comments from the attendant, we decided to leave. At that point, we were finally treated as guests by one lady in the restaurant, who said she would see if she could get our food to us faster.
Oh, I almost forgot, they ran out of fish on Good Friday before 5pm. I mean, come on.
All in all, bathrooms for camping were alright, the facilities were fairly old but suitable, can’t complain.
It rained and we had to leave early, but that is not their fault.
I would maybe go back, but definitely stay away from the restaurant.

Room Tip: Stay away from the restaurant.
