Owner description: Skybury's Australian Coffee Centre has been transformed into the ultimate farmgate experience. Labelled "Skybury Farmgate", the transformation is part of our long-term vision to further expand Skybury's coffee footprint, not only in Australia but internationally. Skybury is Australia's largest exporter of home-grown coffee, which is an achievement we are incredibly proud of. Our coffee is enjoyed all around the world, from the street cafes of Paris, Berlin, London, Singapore,Tokyo and Madrid, to trendy coffee shops in Cairns and Port Douglas. Skybury's restaurant and tours, will cease to operate from May 1, 2014. Skybury Farmgate will be situated within the foyer of the Australian Coffee Centre, while renovation and building works for a dedicated facility on the farm are underway. Skybury Farmgate will be open to the public from 9am to 4pm weekdays (excluding public holidays) and will sell fresh produce direct from the farm as well as the full Skybury Coffee range. Takeaway coffee will also be available. Keep a look out for Skybury's upgraded website featuring a great e-commerce platform for coffee sales and product information. It will be business as usual for all online, mail order and wholesale coffee sales.

“Thank you Skybury”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

It's an indication of dedication of service to the travelling public that the Skybury cafe/restaurant exists at all. These people have obviously invested deeply in building this complex to provide a wonderful restful place to relax and enjoy a quintessential Australian landscape while offering a full service restaurant and bar. There is no way that these good people would make a profit from this cafe/restaurant so therefore they are providing a service purely for the benefit of travellers. It is an adjunct to their coffee plantation. I say, well done Skybury for doing this. Your coffee (the focus of your whole project) is simply great and if your cups weren't so big I would have had a second cup. Delicious freshly ground and perfect strength. We ordered wraps which were also delicious fresh and healthy..the food portions are very generous. It is a true pleasure visiting here. Locals and tourists should appreciate this place and be greatful that it is here at all. It also provides employment for local young people. I applaud Skybury.

“Delightful”
Reviewed March 19, 2013 via mobile

Worth the drive from Cairns-went on the 11:45 tour. Accompanied by a Cockatoo and Michelle. Both were very entertaining. Had a taste of longin berry , saw the flower on the banana tree and how papayas grow. Then on to the life of a coffee bean. Enjoyed the movie review and the taste of the different coffees. Well worth the cost of $12.00 per person

“Best Place in the Tablelands for lunch”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

We did not go on a tour, but we loved visiting this plantation. Just sitting out on the deck and over looking the tablelands whilst having lunch was just a delight.

“Stunning outdoor deck and view, great coffee and scones!”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

We went here for a morning tea and we loved the coffee so much we had to get a second one. You must order the scones with jam and cream, they are to die for! The views from the deck were stunning. Will be back

“Couldn't be more disappointed”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Expected great things of Australia's biggest coffee plantation. Ordered lunch, no gluten free options, would have sent it back but we had booked the tour. The tour was less than stellar and at $25 a head don't waste your money, The information about the coffee growing was adequate but when it came to using the final product the staff, sadly, didn't have a clue. The coffee was undrinkable. This is really sad since a facility like this ought to have top class baristas who really know how to get the best out of the beans. This is supposed to be a coffee education centre. You'd learn more at a bare bones, afternoon TAFE course.
