Description: Deliciously different African, Mediterranean and Caribbean traditional family style cooking is served at the Key Restaurant Maleny, a short 20 minute drive from the Sunshine Coast. Some of the most popular dishes on the menu are Mozambique Chicken with Jollof Rice, the melt in your mouth Moroccan Lamb Tagine, the hot and spicy West Indies Goat Curry. All of the dishes are lovingly prepared by Ghanaian Chef and Owner, Simone Butler, with many involving very lengthy traditional preparation and slow cooking to perfection, often over 3 days. In addition to Simone's traditional ethnic dishes, there is also available fantastic 30 mm thick 350 gram plus grass fed, well marbelled steaks or fresh grilled barramundi. Key Restaurant Maleny is fully licensed with a cocktail bar, an interesting wine cellar with lots of variety to match the sometimes spicy and fragrant dishes. Excellent organic coffee, delicious cakes and deserts are a feature. Enjoy dining by the log fire or alfresco dining on the spacious veranda with panoramic views to the Coast, Mount Coolum, the hinterland and the Glasshouse Mountains. For mouth-watering meals, packed full of flavour and exotic spices, visit the Key Restaurant in Maleny. Open Wed – Sunday, lunch and dinner, Special Friday Night Buffet. Garden Weddings, Parties, Special Events and Receptions for up to 100 people are catered for. Check out the menus or book online.

The service couldn't be faulted and the food, was a selection of different delicacies. I had dinner with my mum here on a Thursday Night and the atmosphere is lovely and peaceful with great music and wonderful portraits of artwork. The food we really enjoyed was great for something a little bit different. The Waiter was very knowledge, obliging and hospitable.

Please come and experience this - it is fantastic food. It is African, but very accessible. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing too, and the service (led by a nice French guy) is top notch.

Please try it out - I worry how there were barely any people when I went there (though it was lunch on a wed).

Can't fault at all.

Thank AndrewDM

Situated very close to the Glasshouse Mountains and with spectacular surrounding views, this restaurant deserves every success. The husband and wife team are clearly focused on delivering great service and wonderfully creative and prepared food ; the wife is the head chef and originally hails from Ghana. She clearly knows her profession and the dishes she presented were of a high quality ; she came to our table and asked exactly how we wanted our food cooked re. spiciness ! Excellent service front of house and beyond.

My husband and I had lunch at key restaurant for our 17th wedding anniversary. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Although we felt so full after the main, we thought we wouldn't order desert, we were surprised with a gorgeous complimentary parfait before we left, complete with candle, to celebrate our anniversary! Never have we felt so individually and personally cared for in a restaurant! Highly recommend for any special occasion. And of course, the drive to get there is breathtaking!

You won't be disappointed by the delicious spices and flavours of the gourmet food at this delightful restaurant. We bring our visitors when we want to spoil them as a warm welcome is always guaranteed! The Friday night buffet is very impressive and good value. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The verandah tables are wonderful in the summer and close to the fire in the winter is very cosy. We'll be back again ... and again ... Thank goodness we're local!
