My husband surprised me with a date night at The Terrace Seafood Restaurant in Maleny. The staff were friendly and on the ball. The food was amazing. We have eaten in some good restaurants around the world and The Terrace is right up there. The dessert was probably the best dessert we have ever eaten. The manager knew his wines and even drove us home after a few too many. Thank you we had a great night.

This was my first visit to The Terrace after hearing great reviews. We decided to spend the night in maleny and enjoy a really specials meal. On arrival we were greeted warmly, seated and can Only say the service was excellent.
When it came to the food however, it was a hugh disappointing. I ordered the carpet bag steak as it sounds excellent from the menu. When it arrived at the table it looked good but that was as far as it went. The steak was cooked well but was tasteless and inside was one oyster, a small prawn and an undercooked scallop. The crab and cognac sauce had no flavour and was watery probably called by the vegetables that were undrained and soggy.
My partner had the seafood tagine, which consisted of half a small bug, one prawn, one mussell and one scallop, some small places of fish (not salmon as advertised) with some rice and a pic of zucchini.
For $45 per main, we expected something really special. How disappointing.

Loved the amazing food which was beautifully presented. The open fire for winter made a cosy intimate atmosphere. Lovely night out and fantastic staff serving.

I have eaten here twice : once at a function when the food was excellent (two years ago). More recently I had a most disappointing experience with food well below the standard expected at these prices ...maybe a "chef" thing.

Terrace certainly has spectacular views during the day - ask for a window table when you book.

Staff also vary from competent to young/nervous/uncertain and requiring more training and support.

Overall a restaurant which is currently not attaining it's own ambitions.

After visiting this restaurant on several occasions I decided to invite others to dinner at the terrace seafood restaurant . I had been suggesting it was a great seafood platter that compares with none other. So off we went and drove from Noosa for lunch. We didn't make lunch as we arrived too late but was encouraged to come back for dinner, so we stayed around town to do just that. Service was great but the food was ordinary
not special at all. We paid $150.00 for a seafood platter for two. Normally 2 serves of hot and 2 of cold would be served. We requested 3 of hot and one cold. As we were not feeling much like cold. Often people would only have a 1/2 serve one not the other, so it was not a difficult request and they were very happy with our choice. But our third person a male ordered from the menue and said they might help us and have a prawn or two of us girls platter. Whilst the quantity of food was sufficient the content of a $150 dollar platter was under delivered. We had 3 small bowls of hot seafood, ontop of more in quantity of chips and of all the fillers i have ever seen, 2 half deep fried patatoes, talk about boosting the size with starch , even so the bowl was not overflowing. No lobster bugs crab or osters in the hot food . 2 cocanut prawns 1 scolop one bit calamari and a small peice fish about the size of a sausage in each portion of the three. And one bread and butter size for the forth portion as requested, this included 1/2 small bug 1 oster 2 crab claws bearly visable for flesh, 4 bits of bitesize sour melons and fruit, a glass crab salad with the crab just screaded ontop and 2 prawns. Well all I can say is the hot crummed cocanut prawns had the vein left in , the fish was ok, the one bite of scolop and calamari was tasteful, but nothing special. We likened it to a good pub seafood basket. We are familiar with seafood platters around queensland upmarket restaurants, especially noosa our favorite being Masies, and all I can say about this meal is disapointed .. 200 dollars for 3 which only included one glass of alcohol, no desert, bread or entres for the two ladies, just the one menue item for 20 dollars for the third person. It was something i could get from a local surf club for 70 dollars, and there was nothing special on the plate just a bit of battered fish and deep fried seafood. However notwithstanding this disappointment, I have to say the service cleanlyness and timing was very good and as good as many of the best .
