My family stayed in the apartment for four nights in October 2008. This accomadation was not what we had been expecting from the web site and previous reviews on Trip Advisor.

It is obviously now being run by a new owner who certainly does not go out of her way to make you feel welcome. The rooms were not serviced during our stay. We had to request clean towels.

The kitchen facilities were a sink and microwave only. The crockery consisted of odd plates (chipped), mugs and a few bowls. Cutlery was sparse. The towels were old and did not smell fresh.

At breakfast the pots of preserves and slab of butter were shared by all guests........... and there was no side knives...... so those knives could have been used to eat your cooked meal! Toast bread was rationed. The owners live-in guests drained the coffee pot themselves and no further provisions were forth coming.

This is backpacker level of accomadation. Such a pity as the previous owners had obviously built up a good business.

Good points are the location, grounds and the breakfast. We stayed for 2 nights in August which was rather cold during the nights. We were provided with fan heaters to keep our room warm whilst we were in it. Guests have access to a very large sitting room but this was too cold to sit in during the dark evenings. The large flat screen TV was out of order. The owners were not present during our stay and the house was being operated by a young live in couple. Not all rooms have en-suite facilities as indicated in earlier reports. The rooms without en suite resemble backpacker accommodation. Smoke alarms were disconnected in our room and the dining room. We had an en-suite which was clean and average size, however, bedroom was cramped. Generally poor value for money compared to other B&B's we stayed in during our trip.

After 4 weeks in Brisbane overseeing a group of 14 University students, my wife and I were ready for our Aussie Vacation! We intentionally wanted to get away to the hinterlands and away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Maleny Hideaway was just what we had hoped for and needed.

We spent 3 nights at the VERY affordable B&B - and kinda wished we had stayed a while longer instead of heading to our next destination on the beach. The breakfast each morning was superb! The hosts were great! The living rooms were spacious and the bedroom was good too.

We hope to make it back and would highly recommend it to anyone - a couple, a family or a large group.

We found this totally by accident, probably the best accident we have ever had.
The location is superb, made very welcome by John and Carol.
As there were four of us we had a twin bedroomed apartment (the accomodation is flexible) with a nice lounge/kitchenette area and balcony.
Breakfast kept us going for the whole of the next day!
Would happily recommend to anyone.

I thought that I’d take my wife away for the weekend for our wedding anniversary and booked the Maleny Hideaway because she loves browsing around craft shops and markets and I’d been told that Maleny and Montville were good areas for these. We arrived in the area after dark and couldn’t find the place but after ringing and speaking to Carol soon got sorted out.
Our room was really nice, plenty of space, stylish and everything seemed new. There are plenty of restaurants in the area and I can recommend the 2 that we used - Maundy’s the first night and the more expensive Terrace Restaurant the second night.
I can’t fault the Hideaway and the large breakfast cooked by Carol was a treat. We spent Saturday morning in Eumundi Market and the afternoon in Maleny and Montville. My wife loved it and I now have plenty of brownie points to call on if needed!
The place is appropriately named if you’re getting there after dark though as it’s easy to miss from the main road.

My husband and I recently enjoyed the wonderful hospitality of the Maleny Hideaway which is situated just a five minute drive from the interesting township of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

There are seven bedrooms from which to choose, each with ensuites and a couple with additional lounge room. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and stylish. Our king sized bed ensured a good night's sleep. The ensuite was roomy and toiletries were provided. Our apartment included a small kitchenette and a large lounge room with adjacent balcony overlooking the garden and surrounding countryside.

Included in the moderate tariff was a delicious, hearty, country style breakfast which we enjoyed eating in the winter sunshine on one of the balconies overlooking the garden and valley below the guesthouse.

There is a pool in the garden to enjoy in the summer months and a number of lounge areas to mix with other guests if desired or patios/balconies to take in the magnificent country views.

Our hosts, John and Carol, were a friendly couple who made us feel most welcome and ensured we enjoyed our stay to the full.

We have stayed at other establishments at nearby Montville but in future we'll choose the Maleny Hideaway. We could not fault the place.

We highly recommend the Maleny Hideaway to those who are looking for a great value, friendly, comfortable and peaceful country retreat within easy reach of many interesting activities.
