“Friendly and fantastic views”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

Kerrie and Grant were wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. The breakfasts were delicious especially when having eggs straight from the chooks in the garden! We had a downstairs room with a private patio that looked out to a fantastic view of the mountains, a very comfy bed and lovely ensuite shower. Will be recommending to my friends and looking forward to coming back myself!

Kerry and Grant are two extremely lovely people and could not have been nicer to us. They are truly genuine and considerate and could not have been more accommodating.
Although not a modern building, this place feels like you're staying with a very nice Aunt! The dogs were friendly, the chooks were friendly, the pool was cool. The view from the deck is outstanding. Thank you so much, Janine and Amelia. We will be back.

We have been coming to the Hideaway for 8 years now. Kerry and Grant are wonderful hosts. We love the fact the it is consistently great value for money, good for a casual weekend away. We have stayed in every room they have. There is a lovely king size bed/room downstairs, an apartment with a lounge upstairs, our favourite number 5 and two smaller rooms that are ok if the others are booked out. The accommodation is clean and simple with no frills. It's not five star but its quaint. Breakfast is outstanding, the grounds and view amazing, a pool and a shared lounge area. It is a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We have come as a couple as well as a family. Outstanding value for money.

The photos on the net must have been taking over fifteen years ago or more. Now the place is very old and haggard looking and smells very damp & musky. We had to keep the windows open all the time as the smell was really bad. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, as were the pillows and we had an outside toilet to share with several other people (when they said ensuite I assumed there was a toilet but no it was just a shower and the smallest vanity space you have ever seen). Not a place to go for a romantic weekend. The staff were very nice but sorry that doesn't make up for the dingy b & b. The scenery is beautiful but the property needs a desperate major refurb!!

Room Tip: This place is overpriced for the low-quality standard. Go to another B & B.

We have stayed at B &B's all over the world and it is a disgrace to call this a B & B.After being impressed by the photos on their website we had to pay a one night deposit of $150.On arrival we were horrified when we were shown our little "king" room and the small ensuite that had no room for toiletries and and overpowering musty smell.Furnishing and decor very tired looking and very much in need of updating. Inside areas were dirty and the patio and gardens unkempt. We could not even bear to stay one night and lost our deposit.
We went into the information centre in Maleny and picked up brochures for B& B's in the area .
Found top quality accomodation for our 3 night stay.Interestingly we noted on reading the brochure for Maleny Hideaway at the information centre the price is quoted at $89 not $150 per night.

Room Tip: Don't go here

Wonderful setting with a homely feel. Whilst staying with friends in Brisbane 4 of us spent 2 nights here. Clean and spacious with everything you would expect from a B&B. Lovely breakfast and friendly hosts. Great value for money. You get what you pay for. Much better than a stuffy, marble hotel ! Thank you x

Thank you Kerry and Grant for a wonderful 3 days stay. Never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and could not believe the hospitality we received. Our room was lovely and very clean and the doors opened up to our private garden. The views were magnificent and the breakfast was delicious and nothing was a trouble to You. It must be a huge thing to run a place like maleny hideaway and there will always be little things that people can pick on that are wrong with a place but you know that is life and you get that in many hotels but lots of time you don't get the hospitality and the willingness to make your stay more comfortable. We did get that with Kerry and grant. Thank you both heaps.

Room Tip: We booked early and had a room on the ground with an ensuite
