Description: Reserve Restaurant Cellar is the premier fine dining experience on the Sunshine Coast. Situated only 7 km from Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Reserve is housed in a landmark colonial Queenslander with sweeping views of the Coast and Hinterland. Reserve offers a warm and intimate dining experience with polished timber floors, high backed leather chairs, crisp linen and crystal glassware. Like the spectacular views, its reputation since opening in 2007, now stretches far beyond Maleny. Testimonies to the combined talents of Chef Kieran Reekie and Sommelier Steve Heffernan include: • one star in the Courier Mail Food and Dining Guide in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011• a listing in the prestigious Gourmet Traveller Australian Restaurant Guide Top 400 Restaurants in 2009, 2010 and 2011,. • one goblet in the Gourmet Traveller Wine Wine List of the Year Awards in 2008, 2009, 2010• Restaurant and Caterers Association – Best Contemporary Restaurant, 2009; Best Fine Dining Restaurant, 2010.Chef Kieran combines modern cooking with traditional methods and is passionate about taste and keeping flavours simple, so as not to confuse the palate. With an eye for detail and a love of beautiful ingredients, the resulting dishes are always superb. The menu is available online and rings in seasonal changes. Firm favourites include an entrée of Twice Baked Moreton Bay Bug and White Truffle Oil Soufflé with Vinegar Spinach and Salmon Caviar while mains include Slow Braised Shoulder of Junee Lamb with Roasted Pumpkin, Onion Relish and Seeded Mustard Crust and desserts on offer include a divine Vanilla Pannacotta with Cinnamon Beignets, Caramel Sauce. A degustation menu complete with wines for each tasting is a popular choice.Reserve Restaurant Cellar is not only innovative in the kitchen, but in the wine cellar as well. The cellar is an ever growing, and at times all consuming, foundation for Reserve. Currently holding 450 varieties, each wine is carefully chosen to create a list that appeals to all tastes and budgets and is supported by Steve, a professional sommelier who adores “talking wine” and assisting with wine selection. Reserve features two levels of dining: the ground floor, which seats a maximum of 50 people, and the Cellar, which seats up to 25 people, for a more intimate unique dining experience. Both spaces at Reserve are available for functions and events, with optional menu and beverage packages. Locals and visitors alike are able to enjoy personalised, professional service that begins from the moment they are greeted at the door. Reserve’s commitment to delivering the perfect dining experience extends to offering a drop off service to Range customers in their luxury car.

Friendly staff although felt little rushed to order. The entree was delicious and beautifully fresh (oysters and scallops). The mains were perfectly cooked and the fresh greens crisp and seasoned. The desserts were nice but we had asked for coffee with our dessert and it did not arrive. We cancelled our coffee order and left with a feeling of a fantastic meal unfinished. Would love to go again.

Rolling up for a mid week lunch we were warmly greeted and given the choice of tables (first in best dressed). Beautiful views of the Blackall Ranges; fabulous menu; and impressive wine list complimented by a tastefully appointed, and well set dining room set the scene for a great dining experience. The Oysters Kilpatrick were superb, from Tasmanian waters, they were plump and rich whilst my scallops were delicate and a real treat. Our choice of mains were Barramundi and tea smoked Duck; whilst I can't comment on the fish, the duck was truly exceptional, a standout example in my 30 odd years of ordering it! Wines by the glass perfectly match the entrees and mains on order, the 2010 Lethbridge Pinot Noir really synced with the duck as did the Pikes Riesling with the scallops. The team in the kitchen, coupled with engaging front of house and a discerning Sommelier tick all the right boxes. A definite must visit again and again...

For a very pricey restaurant we had high expectations when dining with my parents but were let down.
The greeting was very warm from our waitress and she was well versed with the menu so we ordered and the starters came which were very nice, Pate and the scallops! Main course next and it arrived and was well presented and looked great, Dad and I ordered the duck and both ours were cold, not even warm just cold... We informed the waitress and she took them away, it took about 10 minutes to get fresh ones, by which time the ladies had finished, the waitress put the plates down and proceeded to walk off when I asked her if she was just going to leave the cold vegetables or get us fresh ones, she took another 5 minutes to return with them and all of a sudden she was not friendly anymore and just walked off. We ate our meals which 2nd time round were hot but the confit duck was not very overcooked but we didn't want to wait again. When the waitress came back to clear the plates we said that we not really that happy with the experience and she went and go the owner, all he could say was 'what do you want me to do?' which was very odd, he offered an excuse that he can't get chefs in Maleny but no attempt was made to offer anything else.
For the money it was not impressive and we shall not go back......
