“A warm welcome awaited us”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2010

My wife and I recently spent 5 nights staying at the Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach. Our hosts were great, the food in the restaurant a pleasant surprise and the staff friendly and helpful. They just couldn't do enough for us. If ever we find ourselves back in Longeach we're sure to stay there.

This motel was very clean and the room spacious and well stocked with soaps, shampoos, tea & coffee, biscuits etc. The room was nice and dark for a good sleep in! Lovely friendly staff too.

Like a little oasis in the outback, it has big rooms and plenty of them.
right across from the airport - very convenient!! also opposite the qantas museum and next to the r.m willams centre.
A pretty long walk from town, but a nice one if your up for it. There is a restaurant but i just grabbed food from the nearby roadhouse. nice big pool, but too cold still in September to use.
Rooms are well equipped and provide a nice stay.
one computer for internet access - pretty steep prices tho.

i would certainly recommend for people with their own vehicles!

As someone who travels a lot for a living, I get to stay in all sorts of places. Having stayed in almost every place in the town of Longreach, this would have to be the better of all the places in town.

The rooms are a standard size, but newer then all the others. Cleaner then the rest also.

In a really hot town like Longreach, it was nice that the air conditioning system is a split system. All other places have the window mounted boxes which I find very noisy at times.

Shower was good - no water saving shower heads (big plus for us that travel a great deal), with the basic kettle and fridge that you get in most places.

Location is handy, but with a town of this size, everything was in walking distance for me (but then I like walking after sitting in a car all day). Although this place is close to the highway, the rooms were quite well built and I did not notice as much noise as I had in other places.

Only downside is that when I stayed, the restaurant was closed for an extender time. I am not sure if it will open again and if you like to eat in your room, you may need to check if that is possible. However, if you like a meal out - the town has a few lovely finds (see further reviews for details).

We booked in here 6 weeks ahead of schedule and were given a room on the highway which was not necessary because it was only a third full, we were changed to a room by the pool and out the back after a request. The room like alot of motel rooms reeked of cleaning fluids which I always feel is there to mask something bad even if it isn't. My husband requested an extension chord which in the end he had to go and look for after no attempt by the front staff to help. However, the restaurant was fantastic and the food quality and presentation were excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closing down for 3 months over summer which is a shame as it was great to be able to walk back to your room after a great dinner. Hope the restaurant closure doesn't mean that the bar by the pool - which is part of the restaurant - is closing too.

We stayed here during an 'outback to coast' road trip on 4th and 5th October 2009. The motel is much bigger than I expected with clean rooms, a large pool and patio area and a small but lovely restaurant.

We had a room in the rear complex away from the main street. The rooms at the front of the complex are set back from the main road.

As other reviews mention, this motel is within easy reach of the airport and the two museums which will probably be the main reason for visiting Longreach anyway. Even in the busy school holiday season, the actual centre of Longreach seemed deserted!

We had dinner in the restaurant - lovely food and massive portions! Breakfast was good with a buffet or fully cooked choices. All staff were friendly and helpful.

We took the rather eclectic Billabong Boat cruise which was a hoot!

I would recommend the Albert Park Motor during a trip to Longreach.

My work place recently had trip to Longreach. A staff and committee totally 11 people were accommodated at the Albert Park Motor Inn, Longreach.

They staff at the Albert Park Motor Inn accommodated us with ease. They were friendly, helpful and professional. Queries were responsed to promptly and with easy.

The management and staff were friendly, professional and more than accommodating. They made conversation with guests.

Also the food in the restaurant was outstanding. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was especially impressive.

As a city vegetarian visiting the county and western Qld for the first time I was most impressed and relieved.
