Owner description: Welcome to the Qantas Founders Museum. We are an independent not-for-profit community organization and registered charity, operating since 1996, to commemorate the ethos and preserve the material heritage of the founders and early operations of Qantas Airways Ltd. Today, we are a world-class museum and cultural display, eloquently telling the story of the founding of Qantas through interpretive displays, interactive exhibits, replica aircraft and an impressive collection of genuine artifacts. Our collection incorporates four of the world’s most significant airliners – the Consolidated PBY Catalina Flying Boat, the Douglas DC3, the Boeing 707 and the legendary Boeing 747. In addition, we have full scale replicas of some of the most important aircraft in the early Qantas fleet – the DeHaviland DH-61 Giant Moth, the DeHaviland DH-50, and the Avro 504k Dyak; Qantas’ first ever aircraft.

Didn't think we would be that interested but arrived at 9am and left 3:30pm.
We did 2 tours, the 747 and 707 plane tour and the Wing Walk tour. They were organised with one following the other so very convenient.
Unfortunately can't remember tour guides name, young girl, but she had all the information you wanted to know and more that you didn't (plane engines are only held on by 3 bolts, I didn't really need to know that)
The tours took you all over the planes inside and out and did not duplicate any information. The museum was very interesting and do watch the video about the recreated trip done in the model ford and also in the old hangar outside is another video with Hudson Fysh narrating, both very interesting.
It is so easy to rush through these places but do yourself a favour, you've driven a long way to get and see this, so make the most.

The 747 & 707 experience. No dislikes. Had been here before these displays, It was a bonus to see the Catalina flying boat sourced from Spain to add to the Qantas display as Qantas flew these during WW2 to keep up the mail service.

We are really into the pioneers and what they did in outback so we read lots at the museum. The museum does have some artifacts etc but mainly pictures and lots of writing and documentary movies so quite easy to get right into what happened. We spent 4 hours there and we weren't interested in the 'modern' Qantas or going on 'plane wing' walk or anything else. Great story told fantastically. A must for all Australians.

Very interesting Museum and supported by an excellent café. The bookshop and gift shop provide the opportunity to take away memories of the experience.
