Owner description: Outback Pioneers invites everyone to come to Longreach and discover the heritage and pioneering spirit of outback Queensland. Step into pioneers shoes for holidays and experiences that entertain, educate and inspire. Owned and managed by the Kinnon family, Outback Pioneers reflects their love of the outback lifestyle and dedication to preserving it for future generations. What began in 2006 as a way to diversify the family’s grazing business in times of drought has become a passion to share Australia’s iconic heritage with visitors. When you visit Longreach you can also stay in Kinnon & Co’s award-winning, heritage-inspired Outback Accommodation, which is an attraction in its own right. Outback Pioneers is the only place in Australia you can gallop in a Cobb & Co stagecoach along part of an old mail route, see the Harry Redford Old Time Tent Show and much more. You can also take a sunset cruise on the Thomson River to a stockman’s dinner around the campfire plus visit the Kinnon’s historic, working Nogo Station where Captain Starlight kept his stolen cattle and where station life continues to defy drought and distance. In Longreach, the Kinnon & Co Station Store and The Welcome Home are further attractions and the Outback Pioneers booking office is in The Welcome Home building at 128 Eagle Street.

Great fun, and customers really got a feel for the "olden days". Terrific morning tea and show afterwards.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the review. So glad you had a good time and enjoyed the Gallop thru the Scrub tour. We have a new show in 2013 so we look forward to showing you our new slapstick Harry Redford Old Time Tent Show on your next visit.

Wow, the sunset colors and reflections on the water were superb. The whole criuse, camp food and evening entertainment was excellent. We went on the catamaran and were entertained by Grant Millar and Michael Quility who were amazing. This is the year of the outback song writers. Throughly enjoyed the evening.

The guys running this aren't in character! You can tell they are just being themselves.
From the time we booked at the Kinnon & Co booking off in town, we experienced great service. The lady who took our booking was friendly and helpful.
Richard, our bus driver, was entertaining all the way from where he picked us up at Longreach Tourist Park out to where the paddle boat launched.
The young boys they have assisting are dressed to suit the theme in vests and bowler hats and were friendly young lads. The steam boat Captain gave a fantastic commentary the whole ride up the river and back.
When we got back to camp for the 3-course camp oven dinner we were introduced to Scotty the Barefoot Poet. What a character he is! So entertaining! The meal was delish and ample. We had wonderful weather when we visited. No need for a jacket after sunset.
Would definitely recommend visitors to take this tour.

The whole center is well done in early Settlers style , the Travelling shoe is realy great and has good info . The Cobb and co coach ride is the best part and lots of fun, the food is good and plenty of it .you can buy all inclusive tickets which make it cheaper as they also run the river cruise, they are all very friendly and helpfull . You have to try the fresh Scones and Cream

This Cruise on the River is fantastic , great nibbles served and it is Byo. You get picked up at you're hotel and dropped back . After the sunset cruise you have supper around the Fire and you can listen to the Bush poet , the food is basic but good and it is a great experience .
