Awesome waterfall section of the Barron river together with a hydro electric power plant. Beautiful and awesome in their scale. A very enjoyable excursion.

We had walked along a few walkways after getting off at 2 sky rail stations, we also had a view when we got off the train on the way back down.

The gorge was stunning and the river, albeit not in full flow, was very nice. The various view we saw it from was awesome and it's massive and looked impressive.

We parked at the car park and walked down the gently sloping boardwalk to the viewing point. The children would have preferred a more adventurous route! Lots of interesting information to read on the way there, and cool giant insects (not real ones, although there were plenty of those too, I'm sure) to admire. Hardly any water coming over the falls but very beautiful gorge.

There is an elevated walkway that takes you into the rainforest at treetop height. Add to that a spectacular view of the gorde and falls. Highly recommended.

The scenery at this location is absolutely fantastic. It reminded me a little of the Grand Canyon. Unfortunately being dry there was not so much water as you can see from the photographs.

We had a rental car so drove to the car-park. There is a lovely boardwalk through the forest to the main viewing point adjacent to the railway station. The walk is gentle and easy to accomplish.

This will of course be very easy for train travellers.

I imagine the falls will be quite spectacular in the 'wet' season.
