We spent 4 nights in a 1-bedroom cottage. Although small it was very comfy & had everything we needed. The kitchenette has bar fridge, microwave, small 2-element cooktop, electric frypan, jug & toaster, etc. with a small BBQ on the verandah. The cottages are airconditioned plus there is a wood stove for winter. Our cottage had a small digital tv & stereo but no dvd player. A basic breakfast was included - loaf of bread, big bottle each of milk & juice, 2 types of cereal, sachets of jam & other spreads & butter, teabags & coffee. There are no laundry facilities at the cottages but you can use a washing machine at the farmhouse, as well as their pool. Each of the 4 cottages is screened from each other by the gardens so they are private. They are set out in a big grassy area with a grove of trees behind, on the top of the hill on Bethany's 900 acre farm. You get to the cottages, on top of the hill, via a dirt road at least 1km long from the farm homestead area. It is a great location, very peaceful & super quiet. The grass areas & gardens around the cottages were a credit to John, our host. It's a lovely area to walk as well as totally relax. We enjoyed our "visitors", a small group of wallabies, scrub turkeys & birds. Also we really enjoyed the sunsets & storm clouds, views over Kingaroy & the Bunya Mountains. If you don't like to be where it's very dark, there are no street lights & no outside lighting at all, apart from a couple of not very bright lights on the outside walls of the cottages. However that means you can see the stars like one never can in a city with all its light pollution - about a zillion we counted! The cottage was reasonably priced & a much nicer alternative to a motel on a busy road! Bethany is only a 10 minute drive into the centre of Kingaroy. Last, but certainly not least, our hosts John & Karyn Bjelke-Petersen were really great - so helpful & friendly in all our dealings - firstly by email & phone and then in person. Bethany Cottages & they did not disappoint!
