My husband and I took advantage of the 3 night mid-week package. There are only three cottages so you are guaranteed a very quiet, private stay. The cottages are very well designed with plenty of windows offering magnificent views across the Condamine Gorge. The slow combustion wood fire kept us toasty warm on the cold nights. There is a cafe/restaurant offering a delicious menu, however the cottages are self contained. The owner, Bev, and her staff were wonderful. If you like good mountain drives there are some lovely roads to travel on. There are some great bush walks to take advantage of. If you just want some peace to read and relax (there's no mobile phone coverage), this is perfect.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Nestled into the side of Spring Creek Mountain our three cottages have all been designed to capture the breathtaking, uninterrupted views of the Condamine Gorge, Wilson's Peak and the Border Ranges. With spectacular views from every window, each cottage is furnished in comfortable open-plan style. Our guests will enjoy lazing in front of their wood-heater - which is just the thing for those chilly mountain evenings! Just a short stroll away is the Spring Creek Mountain Cafe. A fully licensed restaurant, here you can enjoy a full gourmet country style breakfast, which is included in the price of the tariff. An evening meal is also available upon request with fresh, seasonal produce sourced locally as much as possible. ... more less
