“Splendid Sojourn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2009

My husband and I took advantage of the 3 night mid-week package. There are only three cottages so you are guaranteed a very quiet, private stay. The cottages are very well designed with plenty of windows offering magnificent views across the Condamine Gorge. The slow combustion wood fire kept us toasty warm on the cold nights. There is a cafe/restaurant offering a delicious menu, however the cottages are self contained. The owner, Bev, and her staff were wonderful. If you like good mountain drives there are some lovely roads to travel on. There are some great bush walks to take advantage of. If you just want some peace to read and relax (there's no mobile phone coverage), this is perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights this past weekend for our wedding anniversary. We arrived in the dark and were guided to our cottage which was very cosy, with a lovely bedroom, huge bathroom and sitting room but best of all a wood burning stove.

As it was so dark we had gone to sleep with the curtains open and woke to see the most spectacular views which you also got from nearly every window in the cottage (and there is a lot of them).

The breakfast in the cafe which is part of the price was huge and seemed to go on for ever. We also ate dinner there one evening and the food did not dissappoint.

An added bonus for us was that when we asked the owner for recommendations of what to do she offered to lend us the 4 wheel drive which they keep at the site so that we could drive down to the gully and drive through the river which was a great experience.

We would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a bit of luxury as well as a bit of adventure.

Unfortunately, we only stayed one night at Spring Creek and would have loved to stay longer.

It's a very small place with just three cottages which are beautifully furnished and equipped, with king-sized bed and wood-burning stove (needed on an evening and early morning.) The views are stunning!

Breakfast is served in the cafe, as is the dinner which wouldn't have been out of place in the grandest of hotels - the food was delicious; presentation and service first class.

Treat yourself and book a stay here.
