“Friendly and clean”
Reviewed August 4, 2012

Stayed here a couple of nights in our camper trailer. Management very friendly and helpful. Great large powered grassed site close to amenities which were clean and adequate, although quite busy during our stay. All together, nothing too fancy but we enjoyed our stay which included a great night of entertainment with Phil King and a sausage sizzle. Also, great meat pies at the bakery, wonderful hamburgers at the FJ Holden cafe and top quality meat at the butchers.

We stayed for two nights in a cabin which was well set up. Two bedrooms with airconditioning to both, room for parking the car outside the cabin. The cabin was clean as were areas around the camp generally. Full sized fridge, but only hot plates for cooking. There were new managers who took an interest in the park. They provided helpful advice about road closures. A well maintained campsite.

Room Tip: there was a bit of noise from trucks during the night.

We stayed at the Allan Terry Caravan Park for one night in a cabin. It was spacious and clean, with a full-size fridge and a comfortable bed. The two separate bedrooms were an advantage for us with our kids. The public swimming pool next door is currently being renovated, will be a big plus when it re-opens.

What a delightful place to visit. Upon arrival, welcomed with a smile from our very helpful new managers. Whilst being excorted to camp site, our helpful manager pointed out that we had a rattle on the exhaust system and immediately got under to pin-pointed the problem. Offered to help get it fixed. The site was spacious, with facilities at our finger-tips. All amenaties clean and fantastically appointed. Camp kitchen second to none.

Room Tip: Book early.

Only two nights in Hughenden, but what a great little caravan park. Being greeted with a smile, and finding everything neat, clean and tidy. I have never seen a more spotless camp kitchen. All amenities, including the laundry, were also very clean and well maintained. New owners in January, doing a great job. Nice little town too. Thoroughly recommended.

We received a very friendly welcome. We joked about our dirty caravan and were informed they had a wash bay and we could wash the car and caravan. What a great bonus. Drive through gravel sites, designated with kerbs on either side with a grass area between vans. We were asked to un-hitch and park the van at the front of the site, if they are busy vans are parked back to back. Amenities were very clean. Quiet at night time, despite the road and railway near by. Council dump point beside the caravan park. No permanents. Suitable for a short stay. $25 2A powered.

Stayed here overnight on a work trip and found the donga style accommodation to be small but nice and clean. My room had a single bed, a small desk, small bathroom which was really all I needed for the night. The bed was comfy and the sheets were clean. While I didn't use it, the kitchen area looked quite nice with lots of bench space and a bbq.
However, probably what made my stay was the friendly staff. Although they don't supply brekkie on site, we were given a map and provided with a lot of options for breakfast including opening times of places and the best place to get a coffee - which is a godsend for the early morning starts!
If I was in Hughenden again, I'd be happy to stay overnight here again (though I imagine I might go stir crazy in those small rooms if I was spending a whole week here).
