I loved this place, it was awesome! I spent a few nights with my boyfriend there where you are surrounded by wildlife like possums, bats and wallabies. The double bungalows are very basic but cute and handy and they just fit into the atmosphere. This place is a Mekka for backpackers so it will never be boring there. The staff manages it to always entertain everybody with games and prices that can be won. Besides, they provide awesome packages like the koala express which we had. It is really worthy to go there and to cuddle a koala and drink some beer at the bar or hang out in the pool area. The staff was always friendly and helpful. I can really recommend this place as it is very unique and the prices and service match.

A great relaxing place to stay at! I loved the A-frame bungalows, with air con, fan, small fridge in my unit, clean, quiet.... Large property, tall trees, laundry, lots of showers, nice pool area including hammocks, spacious comfortable common area, campers kitchen, personable staff, and the best: the animal sanctuary tour right there on the premises. It is not a 'party central' kind of hostel though, which suited me just fine. Island walking tracks nearby, beach a block away, and bus stop right there. Definitely a recommendation!

Ok bit of exaggeration but you can kiss a cockatoo!!! Loved this tour.... And I thought it would be ok... It was brilliant- interactive informative and staff with lots of personality knowledge humour and fun. Enjoy the comfy surrounds with a glass of wine.

This is a lovely hostel.. You stay in individual cabins either dorms or private, they are well placed and it makes you feel like your camping but in a very comfortable way! We had a lovely 6bed dorm with an ensuite, lockers in the room are great too. The koala village made it for us, the rangers give a really good tour and you can hold the various reptiles and have photos with them as well as with the koalas. The bar is nice, different offers on drinks in the evening and freshly made pizzas a and garlic bread too at a reasonable price. It's very close to horseshoe bay beach and a few resturants and little supermarket. There are only 2 supermarkets on the island and both are very expensive, we would advise bringing food from the mainland. Kitchen is nice could do with being a bit bigger as it gets crowded quickly. All in all would recommend staying at bungalow bay!

I chose to stay here as I wanted to be closer to the beach, and as I walked to reception, was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. Was given my key and my shared hut was clean, comfortable. It is set in a wildlife forest, and hearing the animals in night was so peaceful. Another great thing at night sparkle lights are over the bar area in the reception area.
There is also a wildlife tour, where you can hold a koala, snake and baby croc. As there are so many wild birds that like to pay a vist food is available to be bought as well
Was given great advice over the sites and was told the fort walk was great to do, and was also told where the shops were. Really wasn't much these people couldn't help you with and totally enjoyed my stay here. Terrific value for money
