We stayed at the Seaview for two nights. We had a semi self contained room which we shared with my mother-in-law. The service was very friendly upon arrival form reception to the cleaning staff making sure that we had everything we needed in the room. The room was very clean and the view from the balcony was amazing. The sunset and sunrise was not to be missed. We found the motel was a short walk from everything you need in town and the sites were in walking distances as well. If I had to find one negative of our stay is that the room could of done with screens on the windows. My husband and I are planning to make another trip up to Cooktown and we will be staying at the Seaview.

We stopped over for the night as we made the trip up from the Daintree along the Bloomfield track. We wanted to take the time to enjoy Cooktown and we found this motel to be a good price with some comfy beds. The pool was a bit cold but that was ok as it was very windy. The kitchenette was well equipped and had everything you need to make a breakfast. The location was great for the kids as there is a park down the hill with the Music ship also down there for them to explore.

We are seasoned travellers but I found accommodation in Cooktown quite hit and miss. We booked into a motel in town and decided not to stay. So, Seaview (we stayed in the new part) was a breath of fresh air, literally. The rooms were clean, bright and breezy and the bed comfortable. We had lovely views and I would certainly stay here again.

Has to be one of the only places on the east coast of australia where you can see the sun set over water (Endeavour River) and it is a magestic sunset to boot. The motel rooms are standard and quite basic but clean and comfortable. $110 for a Motel room does not represent good value however. It's a stones throw from the waterfront and jetty which has good fish and chips or a short wander south down Charlotte St will take you to Hotels/bars and restaurants. The RSL club is not too far and offers your standard bar food, steaks, burgers grills etc and the beer is cheap and cold. It does represent good value.

Room Tip: Request a front room for best sunset views over the Endeavour River.

We had a lovely one night stay at this Motel. We had a motel room in a separate building with views straight over the Endeavour River. We were fortunate, I feel, to have the corner room which afforded us a beautiful outlook from the front of our room (room 15). This room also had a new bathroom which was lovely. I thought it was very good value and the room itself very clean.

Right from the moment of check in the tone was set. Poor customer service, balcony dirty floor, uncomfortable bed and no microwave in room. For the price I expected more as we had a second floor beachfront unit and we were disappointed. Found the road in front of the units very noisy with people yelling and swearing all hours of the night.

Room Tip: Can only speak about beachfront rooms as above.

Stayed two nights, we had a budget room and a standard room, both quite good for price, $99 & $110 we actually spent more time at the budget room due to the great verandah. The budget room also had a kitchen sink which was better thantritong to fill a kettle in the bathroom sink like the standard room. The standard room number 21 unfortunately seemed to be part of the thoroughfare with lots of people walking past late at night, very noisy. Overall , good just the outside noise carried into the rooms.
