This is one of my all time favourite things to do when I am up in FNQ. Digby and Allison are always the perfect hosts and a long time marriage always adds some comic relief to their hospitality. You sit under a beautifully built wooden house (all open air) enjoying a refreshing lime juice to cleanse the palate followed by a sample of 10 different types of fruit (based on whatever is in season). Black sapote, jaco-something i can't pronounce but it grows like grapes directly ON the tree, and so many other awesome fruits. There is plenty to go around and always some leftover at the end to indulge in the favourites. They give you an AWESOME description of the area, what it was like when they moved back in the day, how they got involved with preservation of the area as a world heritage spot (of which part of their land is heritage listed and cannot be cut down yay!). So informative and they are a world of information on tropical fruit and it's both an informative and yummy experience! i could stay all day! i also really recommend buying some of their delicious soursop jam as it is amazing and of course made from all fruit grown on the property. If you book online the day before you can save a couple of bucks. Can't wait to do this again on my trip there next year. Love this experience! It should definitely be a must do on the Cape Trib jungle trail!
