This is one of my all time favourite things to do when I am up in FNQ. Digby and Allison are always the perfect hosts and a long time marriage always adds some comic relief to their hospitality. You sit under a beautifully built wooden house (all open air) enjoying a refreshing lime juice to cleanse the palate followed by a sample of 10 different types of fruit (based on whatever is in season). Black sapote, jaco-something i can't pronounce but it grows like grapes directly ON the tree, and so many other awesome fruits. There is plenty to go around and always some leftover at the end to indulge in the favourites. They give you an AWESOME description of the area, what it was like when they moved back in the day, how they got involved with preservation of the area as a world heritage spot (of which part of their land is heritage listed and cannot be cut down yay!). So informative and they are a world of information on tropical fruit and it's both an informative and yummy experience! i could stay all day! i also really recommend buying some of their delicious soursop jam as it is amazing and of course made from all fruit grown on the property. If you book online the day before you can save a couple of bucks. Can't wait to do this again on my trip there next year. Love this experience! It should definitely be a must do on the Cape Trib jungle trail!

“Well worth the experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Mine host was very good and an interesting presenter. I cannot say that the fruits were to my taste. We tend to think of tropical fruit as sweet and full of juice. Most of the fruits on display were definitely not full of juice, but very interesting to taste. Most I had not heard of. There was even a very tart plum which a lot of the people there really enjoyed. A pleasant walk through the groves of trees with further explanations. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and well worth the visit.

“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

One of the best things I have done during my road trip through the east coast of Australia. The owners of the farm really show their passion for growing tropical fruits and give a very interesting insight in how everything began. The tasting session is combined with a walk through the very beautiful farm. As it is already said in other reviews: very informative, entertaining and worth every cent.

“Amazing Fruits and Very Interesting History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Loved the strange looking and tasty fruits that were ripe at the time of our tasting. The History of the farm and its owners was extremely interesting. then a lovely stroll around the farm seeing the trees that produce the fruit. Very informative and Interesting and some amazing fruit. There was no fruit for purchasing but some jams made from the fruits that were in surplus. Great idea

Very informative, entertaining presentation, learnt a lot about the fruits and the development of the property, would love to go again in another season to try some of the other 150 variety of fruits.
