Owner description: We offer an Exotic Fruit Tasting and Orchard Tour every day at 2 pm. There is always ten different tropical fruit on the menu - fruit you have probably never heard of,with names like 'chocolate pudding fruit' and 'creme caramel fruit'.We show you how to prepare and eat the fruit, share interesting stories about the fruit from around the world, and then take you for a walk through the orchard which has more than 2000 fruit trees from the Amazon, Borneo and the Caribbean. This tour is not just a plate of fruit - it offers a special experience which cannot be found anywhere else and is great fun.

Held in a lovely setting. Interesting information presented professionally but more importantly in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Really yummy tasting the fruits in season. I would definitely go back as the fruits change depending on availability. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Digby gave us a great personal story and introduction to some interesting new fruits. The place is quite a drive and we hadn't factored in the cash-only $20+ cost to get the car ferry across the Daintree. The drive there was fabulous, taking about 90 minutes from Port Douglas. We were given adequate instructions and arrived within 2 minutes of schedule. There were about 10 others with us for the tasting. The small group was nice as it allowed a more persOnal experience. In September, good fruit variety is obviously difficult to provide and we got the impression they were struggling to provide the 10 promised fruits. But, 10 were there so all was OK. Digby gave us a history of his and Alison's journey and how they ended up in FNQ some 20 years ago. The fruits were all very interesting, and we all had the opportunity to taste a reasonable amount of each. But the highlight for us was the walk through the gardens to see the fruit in the trees. Of particular interest was the Davidson plum; quite an amazing taste sensation and a fascinating tree. We just wish that some of the fruits were available to purchase. Overall, we were given more time than expected and enjoyed our trip and afternoon with Digby. Very happy to recommend both for the drive (we saw a Cassowary on the return trip) and for the fruit and tour provided by Digby.

This is a must if you're near Cape Tribulation. Digby is quite a character and passionate about his fruit, gives a great talk about the diff kinds he grows. And better yet you get to taste all the fruit he has on offer. They are fresh off the tree so delicious and often you can't get them elsewhere due to the short shelf life of the fruit. If you love fruit you'll love this!
