Owner description: Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours takes you into the beating heart of the Daintree Rainforest on a guided zipline experience through six tree platform and the world's first Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. This is nature's own spectacular high definition live stream, available every day from Cape Tribulation. The guides are with you every step of the way, sharing their wit and wisdom with interpretation on every platform and they also control your flight throughout the tour, so there’s absolutely no experience necessary, making the tour suitable for all ages from three to 103. The platforms range from 3.5 to 19.5 metres above the ground and each one reveals a different level of the rainforest with unique and spectacular views into the canopy, over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef (don’t forget your camera!!) There are up to twelve two-hour tours daily, with at least one hour up in the rainforest canopy. It’s essential to book, especially during school holidays.

“Not as thrilling as I expected”
Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

The trip is slow, and the zip lines are quite short. I'm not very adventurous and I thought it was very tame. The guides were good value (one was a little cranky). There is a fairly good view up there. Not sure if its worth the price.

“A must do!”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

You may have read some negative reviews from some people regarding the short amount of time actually spent 'surfing' (flying fox). Yes the 2 hour experience is not a full 2 hours of gliding through the treetops but anyone who has seen the website or their brochures would see that. I sure as hell didn't expect it to be like that and I wasn't disappointed at all.

The guides were fantastic and very funny, especially one guy who had us in fits with his humour. Others have said the bus wasn't cold enough but maybe they've upgraded as the air conditioning was spot on.

The guides know their stuff and it is totally safe with all the precautions they take. The fact you are standing near the top of a tree in a rainforest and then flying through the air to the next one is not something you can do just anywhere.

I must commend the fella behind the desk in the Snake House (where you sign in and catch the bus). My camera had gone flat and hour before we were due to leave and it's one that has a built in battery. He was only too happy to plug his phone charger into my camera (same plug) and allow me to charge the battery so I could get some great photos. Without that I would have to rely on my memory which isn't that good. Thanks heaps!

All in all damn good fun!

“Flying foxes”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

Thought this sounded a bit different.
It was a bit of light hearted fun. First you have to get to Cape Tribulation. This is a lovely drive from Pt Douglas & provides the opportunity for a couple of stops to swim in peaceful spots & also to eat at Whet cafe which is devine.
The walk up to the start of the cables is a bit trying on a humid afternoon, but takes you through a nice rainforest.
I was rather nervous at the prospect of swinging through the trees as I am never comfortable on suspended treetop walks, but even I managed to do it.
The actual time on the flying foxes probably totals less than 10 minutes & the maximum distance of any one span is 75 metres, so for the 2 hours of the trip, only a short time is speant playing Tarzan, but it was a bit of fun. I would not recommend it for young children.
