Owner description: Jungle Surfing Canopy Tours takes you into the beating heart of the Daintree Rainforest on a guided zipline experience through six tree platform and the world's first Human Hamster Wheel cable lift. This is nature's own spectacular high definition live stream, available every day from Cape Tribulation. The guides are with you every step of the way, sharing their wit and wisdom with interpretation on every platform and they also control your flight throughout the tour, so there’s absolutely no experience necessary, making the tour suitable for all ages from three to 103. The platforms range from 3.5 to 19.5 metres above the ground and each one reveals a different level of the rainforest with unique and spectacular views into the canopy, over the treetops, down to cascading streams and out to the Great Barrier Reef (don’t forget your camera!!) There are up to twelve two-hour tours daily, with at least one hour up in the rainforest canopy. It’s essential to book, especially during school holidays.

We saw a flyer for the Jungle Surfying and just had to do it! We had great fun and the views were fantastic, it is not as scary as you think it will be but it does keep you on your toes. You use your own camera which is great and you pass it between others in the group so that can get pictures from all angles. During the last run you go upside down which is fantastic. If small kids can do it everyone can!

We drove up from Cairns to Cape Trib to do this and it was well worth the drive. It was such fun and not half as scary as I initially thought. The guys running it are very knowledgable and keep you entertained throughout with stories and their humour is great! They don;t cash in on you too much either by taking professional photo's. They encourage you to pass your camera to the people in front and behind to make sure you get some pics of you on the wires as your zipping down them. Great fun, well worth doing.

As this is our second time to North Queensland just a quick note to start we found the first time we went to Port Douglas we didn’t book anything while in the Daintrees and found that most activities require bookings.

So this time we planned and asked the hotel we stayed in to book our choices (staying in Port Douglas we hired a car and drove up for the day)

We arrived at the meeting point at Cape Tribulation and a group of us where picked up and taken to the start of our trek.

I thought it was a flying fox where you start at the top and swing down using your hands and bar. I was not really sure what was happening when they started explaining safety and the gear and was not expecting the harnesses etc.

After being strapped up we started our short walk to the starting platform where we each took our turn up and down each level. Each section was different so you have plenty of time to take photos and enjoy the sites.

At all times we were connected to the safety equipment and the staff were fantastic and professional.

We had a really fantastic time and will definitely go again.

Through the same tour company we went on the night tour and saw the same area but at night with a qualified guide.

Jungle Surfing was recommended to me as an EXCELLENT experience (by a 70 year old lady) and now I am highly recommending it to you.

We went as a family group (10 of us) but up to 12 can go at one time. The youngest was 7 and the oldest 50. We all had a fantastic time and will never forget the experience. We would all recommend it to anyone.

Jungle Surfing is a series of Flying Foxes from Platform to Platform in the trees of the Heritage Daintree Forest. At the highest point you are 19.5 metres above the ground. Once you leave the first platform you are committed!

You can go fast, slow, upside down, hands free or even like Superman for the kids. The kids still haven't stopped teasing me because I wouldn't go upside down and they did!

It is an amazing view of the ocean and rainforest and an experience which you will talk about for a long time.

The guides joke around and relax you with their antics (they are also educational about the rainforest fauna and habitat) but at all times you feel safe. The connections are checked and double checked at each platform.

DON'T FORGET THE CAMERA. They attach the camera to you with a carabina so you can't lose or drop it.

You need to book in advance.

I would also recommend that you stay locally (at Cape Tribulation) for at least a night as it is a long drive from Cairns. Staying a night or two also gives you an opportunity to see more of the area, which is very interesting and relaxing.

This was a blast! My husband is afraid of heights, but I was able to talk him into it because a 4 yr old did it earlier in the week (looks like it was the review below) We actually postponed our departure from Cape Trib so we could experience this. The staff is wonderful, made it so much fun. This was one of the best activities we experienced on our vacation.
