“A beautiful region”
Reviewed May 6, 2012

Quite an experience - it is a special part of Australia.
Having experienced other parts of Queensland nearby, we can be thankful that earlier residents have left this part relatively unscathed.
The rainforests are absolutely beautiful but it seems that tourism is almost dead and many of the facilities and hotels are now closed with too few visitors.

“THE OLDEST RAINFOREST ON EARTH”
Reviewed April 26, 2012

A guide can make all the difference to a tour......Adrian was our guide with Tony's Tropical Tours. He made our day in the Daintree Rainforest exciting and memorable. The Rainforest is a remarkable and wondrous place and touring with a small group of five made it that much more enjoyable. Our guide was experienced, knowledgable and professional....he not only worked as a guide in the Rainforest, he also is one of the few that live in the Rainforest. His accounts of day to day living "off the grid" were so interesting.
The tour covered alot of ground. We were picked up around 9 AM at our hotel and returned about 6 PM.
We crossed the river on a cable ferry, cruised in a flat boat for crocodiles, walked the paths and boardwalks in the forest....our guide Adrian pointed out plants, trees, vines, and wildlife, answered questions and provided interesting facts.
Lunch was included...we ate under a wooded canopy in the forest while it downpoured for 20 minutes.
On our way out of the Daintree, Adrian was quick to spot and point out a very rare bird sighting...a five foot cassowary and it's chick crossing the road.
A perfect ending to an amazing day.

“Magical. A word I seldom use in a review.”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Take the tour of the Daintree RainForest if you are nearby, in Cairns or also visiting the Great Barrier Reef. It is an amazing experience, and any of the tours should show you the sights of this natural wonder. The forest gets up to 20 FEET of rain each year, and about a foot (no kiddiing) fell upon our hotel, just before we left for the tour of the forest and of the nearby beach, West of the rainforest. The weather turned sunny and way warm, but the absence of the rainstorm in the Forest was most appreciated.
You will see many species of plants, and the whole area is very well-preserved and cared for. The guides were knowledgable, funny, and very interesting, and they were provided by the National Park, so whatever tour you may take will use those guides.

We also took a river tour, and saw baby crocodiles and snakes and birds and much interesting plant life, and believe me, plants?? can actually be interesting, both along the river and in the Rain Forest. I learned a lot.

“Beautiful untouched region worth the trip.”
Reviewed February 27, 2012

Stayed for 2 days and 1 night in daintree rainforest, was such a beautiful relaxing place to visit after being in the craziness of cairns. I stayed at a place called crocodylus village where the managers were so nice and knowledgable about the region, they personally took me around the property on the way to my cabin ( which was spacious and clean )in the rainforest showing me some of the magical flora and fauna that only grow in this part of Australia and even did some fruit tasting from the forest.
Got to see some wild saltwater crocodiles on my river cruise and cassowary on my rainforest walk, wild pigs and beautiful butterflies. Definitely an experience like no other.
