Such a vast array of creepy crawlies. Don't go if you can't stand spiders or beetles! (But they are dead and mounted in cases). Very chatty, friendly staff. Won't need more than an hour here.

“Mind blowing collection ,We cant believe 1 man did all that!!!1”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2011

Arriving at the museum we approached spiderweb gates ,we were then greeted by a very friendly lady Di who gave us a informative tour , explaining and showing us the Life cycle of a Butterfly and then walking through the breeding house which was full of different QLD butterflies. After showing us more live insects & spiders we were told what we were seeing was one mans lifes work. He had spent his life travelling to all the jungles around the world collecting & discovering butterflies & beetles. He had designed & built the whole museum all the timber being cut from his land and used to make everything.
What was inside the museun blew us away, not only his collection but his artwork was fantastic. We highly recommend people dont miss this attraction...$25 for a family was affordable and totally well worth it!!! We then ended our visit down by the creek which the same guy had built spectacular stonework aroound ,bought a drink and watched turtles eels & catfish.Dont forget your camera!!!!
