Owner description: Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. After an exhilarating fast ride of approximately 25 minutes guests are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, home to an abundance of marine life as well as beautiful hard and soft corals. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing guests to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. One of the best snorkelling sites I've been at; visibility was amazing, plenty of fish life, corals were healthy and colourful.. The boat ride out to the reef is a lot of fun, and even though it was a bit choppy the skipper made the boat ride nice and comfortable, with a few exciting jumps :) Staff are really friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended, especially if you like fast boats and great snorkelling without big crowds.

Went out from Cairns on one of those big enterprising boats with divers and bells and whistles, and was disappointed with what we saw of the reef off Cairns. My advice, save your money for a trip to this great location and go out with these guys. Quick trip to the reef, 100% better health of the reef was seen, and small group on the boat meant a fantastic experience for my 10 and 13 yo. Wish I had an underwater camera to remember all the sea life we saw. This is like what you see on documentaries. Do it!

Transportation to and from our accommodations. Wetsuit rents available. Extremely accommodating to non-swimmers and weak swimmers. Tour group was small with a good staff to visitor ratio. The first spot is more shallow than the second, so you get a bit of a warm up, but both places are visually spectacular. Friendly and kind staff. This experience made our vacation.

I travelled half way round the globe to visit the Great Barrier Reef, and this trip did not disappoint! I particularly looked for a small boat with professional staff, as the idea of snorkelling with 200 other folk on one of the large boats out of Cairns did not appeal to me. This trip was really wonderful and it was great to have a marine biologist (Fin) in the crew to explain about the ecology of the reef and to identify the fish and corals we saw. The relatively rough water made it an exciting trip out to the reef, but safety was paramount and we were well looked after. Wetsuits were provided and they even provided me with a prescription mask. Many thanks guys for a great experience.

My husband & I had a wonderful trip out to the reef with ocean safari. The staff were very friendly & helpful, we saw some fantastic fish & even saw a reef shark! We were also lucky enough to see a whale on the way back. It was a great experience.
