Stayed 7 nights at a cost of $2930. Arrived to find no bedding even though we paid $30 each. After notifying owner the bedding was given a few hours later. The floors were filthy and covered in sand, so after we made the beds we then pried the broom out of the laundry and cleaned the floor. One of the reasons we chose this property was it has a swing set and garden for our daughter...needless to say it hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. We live on a farm so our kid isn't fussy but we needed to hose it down and brush it to make it even half way acceptable. Having paid a $250 deposit for cleaning I'm amazed to find we had to clean it! The BBQ gas was empty and there is a sign saying if you find it empty you should fill it yourself at Bunnings at your own expense - no indication of where Bunnings is of course and for the price we paid you would expect it to be included as it advertises itself as an amenity....in the end we just used the free facilities at the beach! Only the lounge is air-conditioned...and the kids bedroom has a glass door to the communal areas. The kids wardrobe has handles not suitable for children. The list of equipment given in the kitchen doesn't match what is actually there...it is probably about time the owner visited and did an inventory. It advertises itself as including the extras....but we had to buy bin bags, kitchen roll etc.. The beds were too low for my elderly parents. There was no chalk provided for the blackboard....
In short, this could have been a great property but it needs more attention than it currently gets. For over $400 per night we expect not to have to clean up after other people and buy gas for the BBQ.

I booked Amour Eva in Rye Victoria for a beach holiday with my son and his family while we were visiting them in Australia. This house is fabulous and had everything we desired, including a cot and high chair for my grandson. The house is huge with a private bedroom and en suite at the rear, perfect for grandparents! At the front are two more bedrooms and a bathroom which my son and his family used. It also has a massive kitchen and dining are plus a lounge with TV and DVD player. We also used the deck area to BBQ and my grandson loved the toys in the toy box and the child swing in the garden. This is a great base to explore the bottom of the Mornington peninsula, it is close to both Rye Bay & Ocean beaches which we visited on a couple of occasions. An add bonus was the Rye Play Area which is located next to Rye Bay beach and was built as a community project and opened recently. Rye also has plenty of shops to cover most requirements. The only improvement I could suggest would be if the property also offered a WiFi connection. The owner and the staff who we met as we were leaving could not have been more helpful. We hope to visit again in the future.
