“Great Family weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

Just spent a great family weekend in the large house, and could not ask for a better place to stay,
All our needs were catered for, clean, tidy and spacious. Also hospitality and surrounds excellent. Highly recommend for somewhere to get away and relax.

I had a fantastic time away as part of a group of women. The houses were great. They were very clean and interesting with their knickknacks. Beds were huge and comfortable. Linga Longa is central to everything. Would highly recommend to anyone.

I just got back from a girls trip to Hepburn, we had a really relaxing and enjoyable stay at Linga Longa, I could not recommend it highly enough. The big house was perfect for a large group, it was large enough that we were not on top of one another, yet cosy and comfortable.

I stayed at Linga Longa with a friend for a girlie weekend and the one bedroom cottage was perfect! Eileen is very friendly and extremely helpful. She organised 2 single beds for us and the one bedroom cottage was clean, has its own patio and a little garden. Great value for money!!! Linga Longa is located a few kms away from the city centre in a perfect quiet spot. The restaurant across the road (Italian) is amazing! we really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if we are back.

We recently stayed a weekend at Linga Longa and chose it based on their comparatively lower prices and the fact that they had a king size bed on offer. We arrived with a car and a motorcycle and Ted graciously offered to let my husband park his motorcycle in a tucked away place. When storms blew through later and tipped the bike over, Ted came over to let us know that the bike had fallen and the mirror was damaged. He helped my husband pick it up, dust it off, found a cover to place over it to keep it dry, and got a piece of plywood for the kickstand to help keep it stable. He also was happy to share his recommendations for eateries and attractions and, as it was a very cold and rainy weekend, he made sure to keep our firewood fully stocked.

The room was large and spacious and we enjoyed the wood-burning stove and the lovely views out the back. The bathroom is quite small, including a tiny sink, which didn't bother me, but my husband said it was hard for him to shave. However, there was hot water a-plenty and good water pressure, which was what I cared about. There is also free wi-fi, which was great for us, as our phones didn't get any signal up there.

It's not a super luxurious cottage like some are, but it is clean and homey and the price is right. We really enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again if we are ever back in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Daisy Dell cottage, which is for two people.

We recently stayed there as a group of 10, five couple. The cottage we had comprised five bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a third toilet. There was also a spa room (which none of us used). Lounge and dining rooms. The beds are very comfortable, they were all dual singles put together., which in a couple of the rooms didn't leave much space between the walls. But three of the bedrooms were much larger. The smaller rooms were still adequate. The kitchen in our cottage was badly designed, and we found ourselves constantly stepping around each other, but we coped. Linga Longa is not five star, but it is very comfortable, and excellent value for money and ideal for a large group. And the main reason for the visit was for a catch-up, not to be spoilt by luxury, so in that sense, it was ideal.

As a group of 12 ladies who wanted to share sometime away for peace and relaxation we found that Linga Longa was the perfect place. The beds were so comfortable and we would recommend Linga Longa for any group who are looking for a beautiful warm home with attention to detail on the cleanliness and comfort side. Having inhouse massage and facials available was a great bonus for some of our girls. We are all looking forward to the next time we book to stay there and we may decide to go in another season.

Ted the owner was most helpful and even popped in to light the open fire for us to make what was already a comfortable lounge room with lovely big lounges even more so. He recommended the Local Hotel for a meal and we were picked up and brought back again by a complimentary bus and driver. The food was so delicious that a couple of us asked the waiter to compliment the chef on our behalf.

Apart from this group of friends, my husband and I are going to book Linga Longa for a group of 6 Couples, including ourselves who have been spending a long weekend together annually for the past 17 years. This will certainly be perfect for us and I will highly recommend these cottages to everyone that I know who is looking for a place to stay in the Daylesford area.

This home was a memory for me of one that I lived in as a young person that my Father and Grandfather had built. It is truly amazing for its age and full of beautiful homely features that would delight any visitor.
