“Hidden Gem”

This pub was one of the few options on a cold Wednesday in Daylesford. However, it was a very pleasant surprise. The food was surprisingly good and the wine, one of my favourites, was allowed "to go" as we couldn't finish the bottle during dinner. My daughter had the pork roast and left absolutely nothing, I had the pork belly and was amazed at the quality of the meal. I would recommend this hotel to any and all.

“Dinner was delicious!”

Pork Belly with green veg and mash was to die for! Drinks a little on the exy side, but still reasonable. The Bowlo was much cheaper for drinks.

“Nice old fashioned setting.”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Had lunch here on our way to look at the Wind Farm that is 10 km from the Royal.
Had Battered Flat Head fish with Chips and Salad.
Three generous pieces of fish with heaps of chips and the salad was very fresh.
Not long from ordering it arrived at our table all freshly cooked.
The dining room has been nicely renovated in the original style of The Royal,it is a very comfortable place to have a meal and relax. The deserts looked wonderful but we couldn't even finish our main meal.. But next time we thought we would start with desert and see how we go from there..
The menu at the table said the fish meal was $18.50 but when we ordered the fish happened to be one of the specials of the day and only cost $13.
Check the specials board before the menu as they are really good value.
Lots of places to eat in Daylesford but this is a favourite.

“Lovely first time visit”
Reviewed October 11, 2012 via mobile

Had a chicken Parma for lunch. It was real chicken which is the only way it should be served with fresh crispy chips and a beautiful salad. This is my first visit here and I give it a 10/10. Staff were friendly and prompt. Give it a try next time your in Daylesford.
