“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

We booked for Friday night dinner well in advance, based on the Tripadvisor reviews. Wow! what an amazing dining experience. Fabulous Japanese/French fusion delivered with the most professional service and care. We chose the 5 course tasting menu and just thouroughly enjoyed each dish as it was delivered and explained. Beef tataki, Moreton bay bug dumpling, John Dory, cuttlefish, scampi & cauliflower, duck with fig, witlof and foie gras and a banana pudding with halva parfiat to finish. Great wine list to compliment, and we really enjoyed the fig saki and soda water recommended as a pre dinner drink. The setting is very refined and its private and quiet enough to enjoy table conversation. The only negative is that its a 2hr drive away - however I'll be back for sure.

“Fusion genius”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

We dined at Kazuki's last night and would have gone back tonight had the restaurant been open. This is a very talented chef doing a wonderful job in Daylesford. We had a trio of Tasmanian oysters done three ways, au naturel with a zingy sauce, with a thin slce of abalone and a tempura fried one with a lovely sauce. Next were morton bay bugs pieces in the lightest dumpling casing with an amazing sauce and a citrusy jelly, fantastic. My partner had scallops with a crispy light crust and another tangy sauce. Mains were duck done three ways, seared breast, confit leg and foie gras all with a marvellous sweet but tangy sauce. Mine was a lamb dish which sounded as though it would be a cassoulet in a deep bowl but was turned inside out with two perfect pieces of lamb backstrap and a melt in your mouth shin over which was poured a light melange of carrot, onion and celery broth, almost a deconstructed cassoulet. Delicious! We could not fit in desserts which looked intriguing, hence the wish to return the next night. As a bonus we were served an after dinner liquor which had elements of champagne grapes which had been passed through some old wine casks and was an appealing after dinner drink which was not oversweet. Go there!

“Wow - this restaurant deserves 2 hats”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2013

We visited Daylesford and dine at Kazuki's for the first time. We had the degustation and the food was presented well, unique and value for money. We had such an awesome dinner and wished that we had more days in Daylesford to dine in Kazuki's again. This is one of the best degustation that we had. The service was excellent and professional. This restaurant is better than a number of 2 hats restaurant. After returning home to Sydney, we are still thinking about the delicious food and we hope we will have the opportunity to dine in Kazuki's again. Well done to the chefs and staff.

“Divine Food and Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

My husband and I were recommended to have dinner at Kazuki's and we were delighted by the intimate dining experience and exceptional food. Whilst the restaurant was nearly full, we were made to feel as important as if we were the only customers. We have eaten at many hatted restaurants and the experience at Kazuki's exceeded many of those. Each course was delicately presented and had many layers of flavour. The Yasai no moriawase, Lamb and Apple tarte Tatin were all divine. We have no hesitation in recommending Kazuki's to even the fussiest of our friends. Whilst we live interstate, we will plan to return again soon to experience the tasting menu.
