“only stayed for one night...”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

We stayed here for one night. We checked in late and checked out the next morning. Room was clean and beds had electric blankets which is a must for Daylesford in the winter. Heating worked well too. Beds were moderately comfortable. The only bad thing we have to say about this place is that it's very noisy if your room is in the heritage building. It faces the highway and you can hear cars and trucks all night - probably not ideal for a light sleeper. Reception staff were nice. Hotel is very close to shops, restaurants and town though...and a wine bar right on the corner.

Room Tip: Do not stay in the heritage building located on the road. Very noisy at night.

Although in a good location I felt the place was pretty average for the price. Rooms basic and dated, with a bit of a musty smell

A very cosy, relaxed atmosphere, especially with an open fire in the dining room. We enjoyed a friendly welcome and had a comfortable stay in very clean rooms. The motel is in walking distance to the centre of the town which is very handy. We enjoyed a cooked breaky before we were on our way home. Lovely garden settings to relax in also, will definately go back there again.

Room Tip: I prefer the location of the newer units as they are further from the road.

Stayed here for a conference facilitated by work, so meals were included in our package. Rooms were well appointed. Quite spacious. There were a number of different bedding configurations and from what I could see, some rooms catered for up to 5 (and also had a pullout sofa bed - that makes 7). Rooms were nice - some had massive corner spas, some had lovely views, others were quite close to the footpath. Food was lovely. All meals and snacks were catered for - all were lovely. Morning and afternoon teas were particularly delicious.

The grounds are beautiful to look at and clean. There were a few spots where you could just sit in the garden and just be.

Easy access by walk to the main strip of shops...so you could virtually leave the car behind and walk everywhere.

The conference room easily seated 35 (may get a little squashy if you were to add too many more than that)

The only fault that I can pick is accessibility. Although half the accommodation is on ground level (the other half is up stairs), access into the dining room, conference rooms (bathrooms in main building) etc. were all up stairs (not many, but this could be an issue for those with limited mobility). General access to the downstair rooms was generally fine.

Room Tip: Some rooms are quite close to the footpath...others have lots of stairs to climb to reach the front...

Stayed here for 1 night. I asked for no room upstairs, but got them anyway. The Heritage room was clean, but the fan was so noisey needs a good repair. close to main street, 10 min walk, would maybe spend a bit more and stay eleswhere. or upgrade to a bigger room

Customer service from management/staff was very poor. It was very disappointing that the staff were so rude and I would definitely not recommend staying here.

We stayed in one of the heritage rooms which was tastefully decorated and warm. The queen size bed was comfortable with fresh linen. The bathroom was very clean. We found the management friendly and helpful in recommending local attractions and restaurants.

Room Tip: Heritage room or upstairs spa suite
