“Bramber castle ruins”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Nice views on a clear day. Free admission and free car park, although will fill up quickly on a nice day. Only a few bits left of the castle and a couple of information boards. Day we went everywhere was very muddy. We combined our visit with a meal at the Tollgate hotel round the corner. Lovely day.

“Worth a quick stop in passing”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

All of the three previous reviews are correct but to summarise, this is indeed a pleasant place to visit in passing but you'll need a lot of imagination to really get a feel for the place and for a casual tourist it is probably not a place you'd make a special trip to see. But yes it's free and the area is charming.

“Superb option for a short visit”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

We saw it by chance while driving around in the West Sussex countryside and decided to visit it. What a good idea! First of all, there is no admission charge. Parking is limited but free, too. The remnants of the castle are scarce but impressive, especially the lone tower wall that is the landmark of the monument. Both the castle and the church go back to the days of the Norman Conquest. If in the area, don't miss out.

“Beautiful historic area”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

The remains of Bramber castle is a real beauty spot. Nestled in Sussex it has a lovely location for walk amongst the impressive remaining wall. There is also one of the oldest churches in England just below it where you have some lovely views. There is a very sharp turn to get off the dual carriageway to get into the lane.

The village of Bramber is very pretty and well worth a look and a walk through.
