“Very good value for money break”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

We had a one night spa break stay on a Saturday night. Upon arrival the greeting was nice and informative. The hotel is well presented with lots of facilities on offer.

The spa itself was very nice with a good range of amenities. A more personal welcome with perhaps a tour would be useful as there were a number of areas and things going on. The facilities were clean and well kept. The massage was very nice. Lunch was included and a really nice selection was provided.

Our room was large but the decor was a little dated. The hotel itself looks quite modern but the room decor is several decades out of date. The room was well equiped and comfortable.

The meal included in the package was delicious with a good range of choice. The staff were very friendly and very professional. We were very impressed with the dishes we chose. It was very impressive. The only annoying thing was that we couldn't open a tab which is a bit frustrating when you are having pre and post diner drinks and wine with the meal. Breakfast was again very impressive with a wide selection of items on offer.

All in all a very impressive stay and we would return.

Exceptional service from all the members of staff. The meals, room and facilities are first rate. Well worth the stay particularly if you pick up one of their offers which we found to be amazing value.

My wife and I decided to take-in a relaxing stay at the Whittlebury Hall Spa on Easter Friday before a planned weekend with close family. We both have busy work lives, and were looking forward to some pleasant chilling-out and relaxation. However, our dreams were shattered when we arrived to find the Hotel and Spa was absolutely crammed with people out to take in an evening show with a former X-Factor contestant, and a Take That tribute band. The Spa was unpleasantly over-crowded, and we had a poor night's sleep as the drunken excesses of the revellers spilled into the bedroom corridors until 3am. It's probably a decent venue on the right occasion... but it would have been courteous if we have been informed of these events at the time of booking so that we could (and would) have made alternative arrangements. Overall, poor and impersonal service, a 'cash-first' attitude and very disappointing.

Room Tip: Check first if the hotel is hosting any 'entertainment' events.

Went at Easter and it really was to busy, no seats in the spa or by the pool. Massage was meant to last 25mins both had just 12mins! Hotel was noisy with travellers in the evening until 3am. Not the relaxing stay that was advertised. Room was dated with empty mini bar and no water.
Food was good as was service in restaurant.

I attended Whittlebury for my hen do and thought the whole trip was fabulous. A swift check in, followed by afternoon tea, a full body massage and full use of the spa, 3 course dinner and a take that tribute night. Perfect service throughout my whole stay. I would definitely recommend Whittlebury for a girly weekend away. Perfect.

Me and my boyfriend stated overnight midweek on the escape and spa stay package. We had been before on this package do we were really looking forward to going again and we were not disappointed. Check in was fast and our room was ready upon arrival so we went to our room first to unpack before going to the spa. The room was clean and very spacious. We had a standard room. We put our valuables in the free safe which was a bonus. We then had our first treatment which was a soothing back & neck massage which was lovely. We then headed to the spa to make full use of the steam rooms and ice cave. It wasn't very busy at as far as we were concerned, but some disgruntled "regulars" were complaining how busy it was for a Wednesday, obviously not used to having to share a steam room or sauna with more than two people. The buffet lunch on our package was held in the Grand Prix suite and was cream of vegetable soup to start, then a choice of beef chilli with rice or a mushroom dish. There were also salads and cold meats on offer. In the evening we had dinner in Astons restaurant which was excellent. We both had the roasted pepper tart to start, then the rump steak for mains which was cooked to perfection. Breakfast the next morning was buffet style and there was a good selection of continental and full English options on offer. The staff were very polite on all occasions we spoke with them. We shall most definitely return again soon.
