Description: The Butchers Arms has recently been brought back to life after being rescued by a group of enthusiastic locals. Now owned by a consortium of local villagers and investors, it has been completely refurbished, extended and remodelled. Operated with the assistance of The Proper Pub Co, The Butchers Arms now boasts a 'modern rustic' bar, a relaxed dining area, a stylish Private Dining / Meeting room, a multi-purpose function room and a newly landscaped tiered garden. A hub for community activities, The Butchers Arms is proud to support local teams and groups, both in the venue and out in the wider community. We also love well behaved dogs and children. With access to all areas for disabled users (with the exception of the upstairs Private Dining / Meeting room) we aim to make everyone feel at home. This truly is a pub for the modern era, encompassing traditional values and championing the cause for the revival of 'Proper Pubs'!

Have visited The Butchers Arms many times - the welcome is usually friendly and it's nice to be able to sit in the restaurant side to eat which is a bit quieter than the bar side where you can sit and drink / play skittles (or eat if you like). I like the fact they light candles on the tables in the evenings which makes it feel cosy.

Fish night is good value (the fish is the best I have ever had!) and the carvery is always very tasty but some of the dishes do seem to be getting a bit expensive i.e. £11.95 for a chicken and bacon salad is way too much in my book and if it were a little cheaper we'd be more included to pop in for lunch. It's also a shame they don't offer a dessert menu, just the frozen indian types ones, although they occasionally have a home-made dessert on the specials board it would be better if these were available all the time.

This village pub is welcoming and friendly and offers very good pub food which is also good value. The standard menu includes a good pizza selection with pizzas made to order. Fish night on weds gives a good choice of lovely fresh and tasty fish. The carvery on Wednesday lunchtimes is excellent value at £5.50 with a choice of 2 roasts and all the trimmings. The hosts Roland and Sarah also run popular theme nights with menu to match.
