Visited Lovejoys' in Finedon on Saturday, we have been on numerous occasions before but stopped because it bacame too expensive on drinks. My father in law will not pay over the odds. But we decided to give them another go thinking that as it is up for sale, they may have lowered the cost to attract more people, how wrong we were, one round of one beer, one lager and 2 small lagers came to £15 and the men's weren't even pints.
But 3 of us ordered the smoked salmon on roshti for starters, tiny but so tasty, other one ordered pate, very nice, then 2 ordered minted lamb suet pudding, quite large and very nice, one the beef, and one the chicken. Although they were nice flavours, the portion size left a lot to be desired for the men but for me they were fine. the veg was perfect and plentiful, not soggy and certainly not raw. We shared 2 sweets between 4.
I dont think I can persuade our eating partners to go again but I would but it would have to be with the girls from work as the family would definately decline.
