Spent a couple of hours walking around with my sister, the place was smaller than I had expected but still loads to see. The flying display was second to none, really informative and impressive and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

For £7 this is a good place to visit. There’s plenty of space to have a picnic if you want, and obviously plenty of birds to see. The flying displays are very entertaining and worth the fee alone. Definitely recommend for a a couple of hours out in the fresh air. We went on Vuture Awareness day and it was good fun to get the chance to have a vulture hope on and off your arm !

A wonderfully educating and entertaining few hours learning about and handling a number of birds.

The knowledge of the team and their obvious love of the birds in their care was brilliant. With the group limited to a maximum of eight you learn so much during our Half Day Experience Experience.

Definitely something we will do again in the near future and something we would recommend to anyone interested in birds in general and birds of preyin particular.

Booked for hands on half day experience plus 2 spectators. You half a 3 part visit. First we had several birds flying into a gloved hand. Second a falconry lecture and third a flying exhibition by a harris hawk with landing into gloved hand.
All 3 instructors were friendly knowledgeable and passionate about their subject, birds. Complimentary hot drink served.
Unfortunately we missed the eagle flight while the lecture was taking place. I think it takes place at 11.30.
Thank you to Kerry David and Colin for an interesting day

We’ve been to many different falconry centres and experience days over the years but by miles is this the best place we have ever visited. From the minute you walk into the centre and are greeted at reception to the moment you leave. £7 per adult and £5 child entry is a total bargain for what you get. After the remarkable display the handlers Kelly and Colin brought out Dexter the hawk and a beautiful orange eyes little owl for visitors to hold. We spent a fairly long time with jelly who was genuinely more than happy to speak with us. We never got the impression that it was just a job for then it’s their life. And they clearly love it. I mean who wouldn’t being able to fly and play with 82 different birds of prey (minus the very funny and laughing kookaburra Roo).
Whilst waiting for the second display (11:30/1:30/3:30) we had a walk around the centre to see all the birds that were out. A few are having rest days. It’s clearly signed who’s flying today, who’s flown today and who’s having a well earned day off. The centre is clean and tidy with lots of information boards around to rear. The animals are very well cared for and the barn owls seemed to love to play up to passing visitors.
I don’t really want to ruin the surprise for further visitors but I’ve never seen such displays. All the birds are highly trained and the handlers don’t make them do anything they clearly don’t want to and have a brilliant understanding of each one. If that bird doesn’t favour the handler another would fly then.
The free flying approach blew us away.
We couldn’t leave without sponsoring the gorgeous 17 week old hawk Dexter as he was in the “not yet” sponsored list. One excited adult who cannot wait to return over and over again. Can’t believe it’s been over 28 years and I’ve been visiting the area for 31 only to discover it now!!
Fab little git shop, toilets to cater for all (good disabled facilities) and a small indoor seated area to enjoy a small selection of cakes, sandwiches and hot beverages. The centre are more than happy for you to bring a picnic too and have plenty of picnic benches around the site.
