Hi Wendy. Thank you for your excellent review, We always look forward to your visit each year. Long may they continue. You are a good fun crowd.
St. James House is a wonderful, quaint B&B close to the center of Thirsk. The house and guest rooms are loaded with antiques. Barry is a wonderful host and a fount of knowledge of the village and the Dales. I doubt if we would have found all the James Herriot sites without his help. Breakfast was quite good, with local sausages and bacon. We're happy we booked here.
Hi Margaret and Paul. Thank you for choosing to stay at St. James House and for your excellent review. We hope that the dales and the moors will have wetted your appetite to come back time and time again. This is a wonderful county and there is just so much to see. One simply never tires of it. I want people to experience the wonders of it all that I and others who live here have the good fortune to do so. We feel passionately about North Yorkshire. Great handle - Luv2cnewplaces.
Have just returned from a four night break at St James' House Thirsk. It's easy to see why so many guests are repeat visitors. Location is peaceful yet close to town centre and our host, Barry, made us so welcome. He runs a very busy guest house [full of beautiful antique furniture] but is never too busy to chat to guests and give them information on the area. We are hoping that our first visit won't be our last. Many thanks Barry.
Hello Stella and Bill. We are pleased that you enjoyed our lovely house. Thank you for your great review. We enjoyed having you as our guests and look forward to you visiting us again in the future.
During our trip to England we stayed three nights at St. James House so we could visit James Herriot country. What a wonderful stay! We had a spacious beautiful room which looked out over St. James Green and the B&B is very convenient to the town center, James Herriot Museum, St. Mary's Church, restaurants, etc. The B&B is exceptionally clean and Barry is very helpful in giving directions to the Dales and the nearby abbeys. It was our first trip to England and we enjoyed this part of our trip the best!
Hello Shelia and David. Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to have met you both and that we have helped to make this the best part of your first trip to England. We hope this is the first trip of many. We are thinking of you. Good luck and best wishes in every respect. Take care. x x
We stayed at this lovely B&B two nights in April. Barry was so friendly and knowledgable about the area - he and his staff made the stay so enjoyable. And Barry gives the best directions ever! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and breakfast was excellent. This B&B is the perfect base for seeing some of the great sites in Yorkshire like the North York Moors National Park. Thanks for a great stay!
Hi Maureen. Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay here. It was a great pleasure for us to meet you all. We look forward to you staying with us again in the future.
Barry works very hard to make sure all his guests are comfortable and have everything they need. The house is immaculately clean and his staff obviously love working there. If we stay in Thirsk again we would have no hesitation in booking this B & B again.
