This B&B is high recommended. The owners are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival we were met by Kathryn and shown up to our rooms. The rooms matched all the pictures I had seen on the internet, which for some hotels and B&B's I have stayed in isn't always the case. The room was lovely and spacious for our one night's stay and the bed was very comfortable, with extra pillows and sheets available. It was well stocked up with a selection of teas, coffee and some lovely homemade biscuits - a very nice touch. The bathroom was very clean and well kept and had some very nice soaps and products to use - no need to bring your own!

The breakfast was brilliant. A nice selection of cereals, yogurt, honey, muesli and granola were laid out on the side to help yourself to before a freshly made full-English (or full-Yorkshire) was brought out, cooked to your requests.

I would, and probably will, book this B&B again in the future, and I would high recommend anyone who reads this review to also do the same.

The Gallery B & B is is like a home from home. After a gruelling journey, we were given a warm welcome by the friendly couple who run this small and charming enterprise (there are only 3 rooms).
Our en-suite room was clean, quiet and equipped with fast wifi, which was simple to access. The breakfast was delicious! Lots of choice, local produce cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. In the evening, eating out was unproblematic as the location is close to the main square. When I next go up north, I will be staying there, in room 3.

Very comfortable rooms for a single person or couple, with everything one could need for an over-night stay to an extended periiod. Breakfast is excellent, in particular the fresh fruit salad and local honey. Location is excellent for working in and around Thirsk and easy walk to many local pubs and restaurants for lunch or evening meal. Far enough from the main centre to be quite and let you have a good night's sleep. Flexible with checking in and out. I have stayed here on several business trips and will book again if the need arises in the future.

Room Tip: Three rooms - two with twin beds and one as a double. One twin is at the front the other at the rear with the double at the front. Road at the front not too busy so a good nights sleep can be had. All rooms have good shower and ensuite facilities. No bath. Really clean fluffy white towels. Linen is clean and well ironed and modern. All matching decor with low ceiling/old oak beams and cast iron fireplaces but no open fires.

This was our 5th stay at The Gallery and, as always, we found it to be exceptional. Every small detail is thought about from the homemade delicious cookies and chocolates in our room to the very comprehensive local information booklet. We feel we go as friends rather than customers. Fantastic, welcoming atmosphere. Brilliant breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit & local produce. My husband loves the selection of tasty sausages on offer. Old world charm in a beautiful town. Some great places to eat out too. Kathryn can't do enough to make your stay memorable. She can recommend places of interest to visit with advice on directions and routes. The rooms and the beds are very clean and comfortable. Toiletries, tissues, coffees, teas, hot chocolate etc on hand. Have yet to find a better B&B anywhere. Excellent value for such a high standard establishment. We will definitely be back again.

My husband and I recently visited Thirsk, the home of veterinarian and author, James Herriott. We found this lovely B & B located across the street from the museum. Our hostess, Kathryn Collington, couldn't have been more welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and inviting and her breakfasts were exceptional. She even left her special homemade cookies in our room along with coffee and tea. We were also especially pleased to find a couple of nice restaurants in the small town for a great dining experience.
