We visited here for Christmas party this weekend. Reading the last review on here we have to agree completely. We had a brilliant time even though head was paying for it for most of the previous day. One to many skittle bombs i think. Food was great disco was cheesy but great for singing along too we all had a great night so thanks to all the staff at the jester for making that happen. The waiting staff primarily all seemed young but they had an air of professionalism and friendliness. We had never been to this pub and tbh I never even knew it existed as is proper out in the country of truth a a505 but will definitely be back in 2014 at some point

We visited here for our annual Christmas party. Once again we all had a great night. Atmosphere was great as always the dj music set seemed perfect as ever by half way through the nigh we were all up and dancing. Before this we had a lovely three course meal. The soup was delicious and the turkey I had for my main melted in my mouth. The service was commendable as ever too. Was such a shame when we had to leave for out lift home as we were having a great time.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights whilst on a course in Melbourn. My travel in the morning was 7 mins door to door. I normally stay at a chain 4 star hotel. What this pkace lacks in amenities(gym pool etc) it makes up it character and friendly service. The owner and all the staff are friendly and helpfull. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. ( APARTfrom ironing board) ask for that. I really enjoyed the homely feel of the bar. The daily deals are great for a businessman on a budget.bportion are great.
I would like to finish with saying thank you for the warm welcome that the owner and staff gave me. If I'm back on course in the area I will be going nowhere else.

We went to the jester for Sunday lunch. We hadn't been up for a while as had had mixed reviews from over the years. But had heard good things from our friends who had been at a party a few weeks prior. We didn't book and as we turned up the car park was full. Which is always a good sign. After finding a spot we went in and were greeted with a smile from the young chef on the carvery and the young gentleman behind the bar. They seemed to have some kind of party going on In the other room but we found the staff were still attentive and we were served quite quick. The carvery we ordered was nice. The meat wasn't dry which is usually my scepticism when it comes to carverys we had beef and pork as they had run out of Turkey. It was also nice to see homemade side dishes too. Obviously home made Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes are always a winner with me and my husband. The stuffing balls tasted brought in but other than that everything was great for a lazy Sunday dinner. Would definitely recommend and we will be back to try the main menu one day soon

Having 'stumbled' on the Jester we were delighted that we choose to stay there. Unfortunately it was only for 1 night but next time we are over there, we will book in for more as the staff were very friendly & service was good.

We visited for lunch with our daughter and grandson. The service was excellent as was the food. We had steak, which was cooked to perfection. So many times steak is not cooked to your liking.
There was a reasonable vegetarian menu which suited our daughter, and the childrens menu was good.
All in all we enjoyed our visit and noticed they did some good "meal deals" in the evenings which we will try next time.

We stayed here as were meeting family in London. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. We were made very welcome and after having a leisurely drink In the bar we ordered dinner. I had the ham hock and my partner had the beef and ale pie. The ham hock was huge but was deliciously slow cooked so much so it just fell off the bone. The breakfast was also nice.with friendly service throughout our stay and at prices this low we found it was perfect for what we were looking for and would definately stay again if in the area
