Description: The Kings Head is a friendly family run pub, just on the outskirts of Hailsham, East Sussex. Serving an extensive British menu, head chef Louisa Weaver has put seasonality at the heart of her cooking. Louisa is particularly passionate about sourcing locally produced ingredients because of the flavour it brings to her dishes. The bar stocks a good selection of beers on tap, and a wide range of wines to suite almost ever palate.

Good value bar food with a more varied menu than usual. For instance bacon pudding was available. My husband had moroccan lamb which had plenty of chilli - a plus for him.

Reccomended here by local travelodge. Basic country pub, but an extensive menu (probably too extensive). Had a good meal, and a couple of decent pints.

Visited on a Sunday evening for the first time. Didn't have to book, but the restaurant was busy enough to create an atmosphere, without being too hectic. Such an extensive menu we didn't know where to begin.... standard menu, specials menu and specials board!! Probably about 25 or more options for main course! We stuck with traditional old fashioned English food - I had beef casserole and my husband chose bacon pudding! Plentiful and very tasty. For dessert I chose lemon meringue pie and ice cream. Huge serving and gorgeous!! Friendly, polite, hard-working staff. No complaints whatsoever. We will return.

We were very lucky to have a table as the restaurant had so many bookings. There was a wide and varied menu, only a few waiting staff but they were friendly and very quick.
I chose a lamb dish which was tasty and the meat very tender. What impressed me was that for a dessert I chose bread and butter pudding. I did not find the texture or taste was to my liking and so was eating the scoop of icecream which accompanied the dish. The chef came out and asked if everything was OK. I admitted I was disappointed with my choice and was immediately offerred to change it to any other. The second choice was superb.
As there was nothing wrong with the bread and butter pudding - just not to my taste - I really did not expect it to be changed.
We then pre-booked for the next night.
This time we opted for a melon basket starter - attractively served and very tasty. I went for the fish and was not at all disappointed.
