Big Sky Tipi Holidays

What a wonderful stay we had! We went with friends and enjoyed some great hospitality and an amazing experience. Geoff, Sarah and dogs have created a very enjoyable and different place to come and spend some time away from the rat race. Rolling hills, great views and just 5 mins drive to the nearest beach. The kids had a ball as they disappeared off in a small tribe to explore the woods and help feed the animals, not to mention fussing over the dogs. We would definately recommend a stay with Big Sky Tipi!

A bit late in writing my review as I thought I had already done it and I was just about to book up again which jogged my memory. Myself, Hubby & 2 boys are a rather busy modern family. We both run our own businesses & are Constantly on the go and we needed to get away to chill for a bit. We stumbled upon Big Sky Tipi and booked up. It was one of the best things we ever did. Sarah & Geoff are such lovely people that made everyone so welcome. They pop by in the mornings with the dogs In toe much to the children's delight, they even took all the children to feed the pigs. As hosts they couldn't do enough for you. The shower block is spotless and the Tipi's amazing. We stayed in the Bear Tipi which was all fur floors and bed covers. The Tipi was a great size too for a family of 4.
During the day we visited the observatory which was brilliant fun and very hands on. We explored the woodland surrounding the Tipi Site and went Bug hunting in the fields. We popped down to the local bay and flew kites and skimmed pebbles and in the evening the children made friends with other children on site and played and went on Bug Hunts. We laid on the giant out door bean bags with our camp fire watching the stars which is something we don't get to do where we live. Now the best thing about this weekend away ladies is that there is no kitchen and the hubbies take over with the cooking on the BBQ & camp fire ! Man make fire !

On the whole I could not fault this as a break away, we have never come back so refreshed and relaxed. Very much look forward to our next visit.

Just got back from two glorious nights a Big Sky Tipi's. Our last minute 'get out of London on a whim' mini break turned into a very special two day holiday. It felt like longer - in a great way!

On arrival, through the gate, we stood at the top of the field. Looking down, its a lovely view with fields all around and there in Sussex, 8 Tipi's standing proudly.

We soon realised we were the only ones on site. After a full house over the weekend, it was quiet when we went - Sunday/Monday. I would say this is worth considering. The site would be really fun with others to chat to but we also loved the luxury of the field to ourselves. Either way its all good. There are huge wheelbarrows to take your stuff to the Tipi and it really wasn't far anyway.

The Tipi's are really large and we had all the utensils we needed, the beds were lovely, it was clean and best of all our 20 month old boy couldn't believe his luck. He loved it! He spent the next thirty minutes running around the Tipi with utter glee.

Outside there's a stove and picnic area it really was bliss. On top of that the toilet / shower facilities were close by and really nice. Certainly more 'glamping' than 'camping.'

For those of us - me - who haven't been camping for some time, as with all camping, the weather would effect your experience. But that said our Tipi was so snug. We were lucky, the weather was stunning.

Geoff and Sarah were so helpful and friendly and their bacon was delicious!

We will be back in weeks not months!

Booked for a special birthday over the bank holiday weekend - we arrived in pouring rain! BUT our initial dampness gave way to welcoming dry and well prepared tipi's. The fabulous hosts Sarah and Geoff were out in the driving rain setting up canopies and smiling through it. The next day brought bright sunshine and before long with the smell of bacon cooking on the BBQ (all provided) our glamping experience had truly started. The joy of having an extremely hot shower, heated by solar energy, reinforced a great start to the day.

The walk through the nearby woods was enchanting. We did have the benefit that it was the time of year for bluebells which created a carpet of blue that we rarely have the opportunity to see.

We had booked a table for dinner at the nearby pub The Lamb, which is in walking distance but along the road. Our wonderful host Geoff kindly offered to ferry us to the pub which was extremely kind as there were 12 in the party. The pub was busy due to a wedding plus all the other dining guests and partly due to the size of our party the service was a bit slow. BUT the food was excellent and in lovely surroundings and all the staff were helpful and welcoming - DO NOT BE PUT OFF by the slower service we had. We walked back to the tipi's with no worries 10- 15 minutes - just ensure you are clearly visible.

The whole experience was wonderful and we cannot praise the hosts Sarah and Geoff enough- the tipis are fabulous clean and airy, the site is immaculate as are the showers and toilets. Nothing was too much trouble and Sarah/ Geoff and their lovely dogs were around to help but without intruding.

Whist we didn't have children in our party the site is extremely safe for them, plus of course lots do do around the area, and those that were there we're out playing and laughing; a joy to see. We were supposed to be adults nevertheless the experience brought out the children in us all.

We already planning a return trip - highly recommended - thank you again Sarah and Geoff.

This was the first stay at Big Sky Tipe holidays and the first time my son, 4 years old has been camping. I have to say we had an amazing time. The tipi was a great size, nice and warm and with everything we need. We had an open fire, even though Sarah had to show us how to make a fire! a clean bbq and picnic bench. My son and i really enjoyed watching the stars at night...something i think he will always remember, on the cosy bean bags The toliets are very clean and the shower was piping hot. My wife joined us for this adventure, even though it was a lat minute decision by her! and now she is fully converted into these type of holidays. Sarah and Geoff are great hosts and we felt we could of asked them anything. This was a truly wonderful time where we are determined to return.

We had an amazing time here. The owner Sarah met us at the car park and showed us to the tipi. Each have an individual animal painted on the canvas so are easy to identify. She showed us all the individual features of the tipi and offered us farm produce (eggs, bacon, sausages) to purchase if we wished. The sausages, eggs and bread are highly recommended.

The tipi is deceptively small from the outside but has a huge cozy interior. The rugs on the floor make it comfortable walking around without shoes. The futon bed was a little firm, but to be expected from a futon. Lovely feather duvets kept us warm all night.

The cooking facilities were excellent. Every tipi has a chest with its own cutlery, pots and pans and plates. We had everything we needed to make the meals we wanted. The BBQ and firepit were also a great addition.

The toilet blocks were amazing. Lovely hot showers and always very clean. We never had to que whilst we were there. The tipi is set in a lovely location with beautiful hills surrounding. We tried the local pub, called the bulls head. Great food and lovely service.

All in all we had a lovely weekend here. I was extremely surprised to read the two negative reviews from previous travellers and would advise people to disregard these at all costs!

Thank you Sarah and Geoff for an amazing weekend, we hope to return soon!

Room Tip: Tipis on the larger decks are nicer as more private space
