“Birthday Break”
Reviewed November 24, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Really enjoyed our stay at Overdale Cottage. Cottage was lovely; clean, cosy & well equipped. We were lucky having good weather & were able to appreciate fully the beautiful river walks close by. Pretty village with a couple of well stocked stores & nice pub, The Farmyard, where we enjoyed good food & service. It was so good to return to the cottage at the end of the day which was always warm & welcoming. Thank you too, Philip & Sue for my birthday card & bottle of bubbles.

“Overdale Cottage”
Reviewed November 22, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Beautiful cottage, in an idyllic location! We were blessed with great weather - frosty but sunny. Our dog Charlie loved the walks and his first encounter with sheep! Food at The Farmyard Pub nearby is excellent (eating in and take away) but you really need to book at least a day before as it is very popular. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage. Thank you Phil and Sue for letting us stay.

“Comfortable, pet friendly cottage”
Reviewed November 3, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Overdale is A characterful pet friendly Cottage in the busy village of Youlgreave with stunning views of the hills and river valley. It is a well appointed house with a cosy feel , a modern, well equipped kitchen and a lovely new looking bathroom with a great shower. There is superb walking from the door and in the summer you can even swim in the river below ! There are three pubs in the village. The Farmyard Inn which is a five minute walk from Overdale does great food to eat in and out and the staff and locals are helpful and friendly. There are a number of places in the village to stock up with essentials and treats.
This was ideal for a relaxing ,walking break in the Derbyshire Dales

“What a gem!”
Reviewed October 17, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Howard and I and Herbie, our dog, had a wonderful few days in this lovely, homely cottage. We were very lucky to have such good weather for October and were able to enjoy a cuppa on the roof terrace with superb views after out walking. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable and we felt relaxed as soon as we walked through the door. The path to the cottage is very steep but after a few times up and down didn't seem so bad, especially after an excellent meal and a glass of wine in the very friendly Farmyard Inn, which we did on the 3 nights we were there! We would love to come back sometime next year.

“Perfect stop for a few nights”
Reviewed October 16, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

A lovely well maintained cottage in the lovely village of Youlgreave. Perfect place for exploring the area on foot or by car. The house was just right, with lovely views across Bradford Dale and great walks right from the house.
Excellent value stay and we would happily stay there again Ted our sproodle loved it!

“Charming cottage in a lovely village with lots to do nearby”
Reviewed September 24, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We had a lovely few days in this spacious cottage with gorgeous views. No good for anyone with mobility issues as you cannot get the car very close to the cottage and there is a steep path down to it. Lots to do within a few miles so no need to drive far - we loved Matlock bath (especially the footpaths to Matlock and back albeit very steep!) and Bakewell. Also plenty of walks locally and the Farmyard Inn was a must for a lovely meal with very welcoming staff. Hope to return and no hesitation in recommending.

“Lovely”
Reviewed September 18, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Spent a week in this lovely cottage with magnificent views. Cottage is cosy and compact. Reached by walking down a steep path so not for anyone with mobility issues. Loved the fact that it was off the road and very peaceful. Stunning walks on the doorstep, though book in the cottage is slightly out of date so bought my own updated copy from excellent village shop. Left Overtake feeling relaxed and refreshed after a peaceful stay, only small criticism is a lack of cooking utensils in the kitchen but this was not a major problem and can be easily rectified.
