The cottage was quaint and comfortable, with amazing views. The rooftop garden was an added bonus and was perfect for relaxing, very welcoming neighbours too. Although a steep path /steps down to the River Bradford it was well worth it for the beautiful and peaceful riverside walks with the dogs. The river was crystal clear and the dogs enjoyed running through the shallow waters so much. The village was peaceful yet had all amenities, and very close to the cottage the Farmyard Inn served lovely meals. A small gem in the Derbyshire Peak District.
Lovely village and great walking direct from the cottage. View down to the river. Beautiful area with plenty of places to visit and fantastic scenery. Extremely helpful owners and lots of information in the cottage, which was very comfortable and well equipped. A great place to stay.
Cottage was clean and tidy on arrival and we found the welcome folder useful for an overview in the area and completed one of the short suggested walks.
Bed was comfortable, shower has good pressure (important after a long walk) and the kitchen was stocked with enough equipment for us to make dinners. We also enjoyed some drinks on the terrace which was lovely.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Youlgreave is a great town with some shops for the essentials and pubs with good food. Location wise you have the valley just below you to begin some walks. Otherwise you are about 20 mins drive away from bakewell/ Buxton for some more amenities and walks.
During the booking process Sue and Phill were very responsive and helpful dealing with all our queuries. Would definitely recommend to others for a relaxing stay.
The cottage was very quaint and had stunning views. It was ideal for walking and situated well for driving around the Peak District. Each night we visited the three pubs in the village and had some great meals out. There are so many walks to do. Day 1 we walked into Bakewell and caught the bus home rather than use the car, all so easy to do.
I'm sure in the future we will revisit.
Thank you once again.
This cottage was lovely inside and out. The door we left open most of the time, just to take in the views which were so picturesque. No need for a garden although we did enjoy meals with a bottle of wine on the roof terrace. The path outside our door was steep but the reward at the bottom was the miles of Riverside walks and Woodlands. We listened to children playing in the water, watched coots feeding their young, loads of trout and house martins collecting mud for nests. Truly beautiful countryside with friendly locals and good food wherever we went. Definitely a place to revisit.
Ideal base for exploring the Derbyshire countryside, leave the car and walk straight from the door. Not ideal for anyone that struggles with walking as access is quite steep but not far. We parked in the nearby car park and forgot the car while we enjoyed the 'great outdoors'. Beautiful scenery, wide open spaces, what more could you ask for!!
A lovely cottage, fab views and lovely walks from the river just down the cobbled path from the front door. The roof terrace was well used as the weather was good. Perfect little place for a break.
