Camping at the C & C site there is a 10% reduction for food. Decided on their special offer of 10 oz rump. It came with salad, onion rings tomato. mushrooms chips and coleslaw. A large plateful All for under 8 pounds. The steak was melt in the mouth, the best I have had for years irrespective of price. All washed down with some good real ale. We will return

Called in for food during a walk of the Dales with friends. We all had large cod and chips and i asked for a side order of gravy. a generously (huge) piece of fish and plenty of chips, served with salad and peas. all very nice indeed, gravy delicious! Guiness was also well served and very good. Pub is old fashioned, multi roomed, stone floored, basic - great for walkers. if it aint broke, don't fix it. Would go back for refreshments if walking there again. Good value too. 6 pints, 3 large cod and chips, £50 including tip. Other meals looked equally generous and tasty.

Ate here on a Saturday night as visiting for a weekend & thought we'd try all 3 restaurants in village. Booked a table. On arrival shown into Tap Room. Bright lighting, not conducive to an intimate or quiet chat between friends. Group of people playing darts at the next table. Dodge the dart! Large portions but very basic presentation, virtually thrown on to the plate. Staff not rude but not friendly. More a cafe feel than hotel restaurant, not helped by having a take away service. 70's decor too. Only good if all else fails. Looks nice from the outside with plenty flowers.
